waterdawg hood or water craft factory hood ?

my waterdawg hood had nothing predrilled not even the breather tubes but not really complaining i mounted it yesterday fits super tight, just waiting to drill out those breather holes now

when you drill the holes yourself, you will get the best possible fit.

leaving placement of the hardware up to the builder can result in fitment issues because people tend to use different hooks, different seals etc

Builders should NEVER predrill your hood.....all skis are slightly diffrent in little ways.....holes should be made to fit.

I have to vote for the WCF hood. It's proven itself in my books against some top riders.

The WD hood has not proven anything, except being less expensive.

My $.02

Well, keep in mind that the WD stuff, until now, has mainly been out on the west coast. Jeff has been complimeted on his work by some good riders that are just now making the switch to his products b/c they have seen them hold up for 2+ years on other boats while their stuff starts to fall apart. It is less expensive b/c he is selling a wet laid product which is low cost to produce. If you want a $800 carbon hood he can do it and it will smoke any other hood out there that is set at the same price.

My vote is for the waterdawg hood. The price is where hood should be and he does great fiberglass work. If you can afford it go for a SR-71 deffinatly the best looking hood and most functional.

It has not proven itself in my books. IF Yamaslut and other riders give it the thumbs up after using it for a full year, then I will change my opinion.

Far too it seems that Cheap = Quality....

Once again, my $.02

Cool.......I would like to see its performance on board members boats as well. That would be a good out in the open test

I have a WF hood that has been good to me (of course, I self-admittedly am no where near the abusive rider like many of you).

I think Mark (24-7) is still making the SR-71 hood. Here's a snap shot of a visual carbon 24-7 hood that I took a couple weeks ago at his shop. It was one of his early ones and wasn't finish polished and trimmed, but I must admit, for visual carbon it's not too shabby.

To be fair, I think the Waterdawg hood is offered at a great price and I've only seen good quality glass work coming from Jeff (from those of you who have posted here).
