If your looking for value , than WD is for you. Personally, I have noted the amount of time it takes me to build a hood and at $400, I would loose money! I know that my hood are 100% hand laid and I also using 100% vinyl ester resins . It has also a lower profile than most AM hood , except maybe 24/7's

who owns a WD ski that can ride?

there is more of his stuff in circulation than most are aware of.sometimes it seems like everyone who skis is on this board but its just not the case.add to that all people who just lurk.

its definitely not my place to say who but there will be a few notable riders from this board on rev hulls soon.

also jeffs price is not a reflection of quality.he has streamlined his production techniques so that he CAN afford to sell hoods for 399$ why should that be considered a fault? i give him great credit for making customers out of people who otherwise would have never bought a hood/hull because it was out of their budget

I would appreciate if people would not speak for me...

I am replacing my WF hood w/ a WD hood and am stoked...

My WF hood will be for sale at a discounted price due to it's imperfections.
From what I understand Steve doesn't mold the hood together like he did mine anymore.... Ya live and ya learn.

Builders should NEVER predrill your hood.....all skis are slightly diffrent in little ways.....holes should be made to fit.

ridiculous statement. You obvioulsly know nothing about engineering.

If a hood is built correctly to a set of standards and tollerances, you should not have any problem w/ fitting a pre drilled hole....

Where I work, I design 50 or more panels that have to fit together perfectly down to .0625". Don't tell me a builder of jet ski parts can't

You are assuming that factory brackets are used, and factory holes are used.

When I put my hood on, the factory holes were luckily filled in when I reinforced, because the new x-metal hardware did not fit in the exact hole placement as factory. In-fact, the hood would have been loose as hell if I tired to use the factory holes.

Also, my hood is on Much tighter that an OEM hood because I was able to move the hook keepers toward the nose of the hood more than what the factory allowed.

I have to agree with Jessie on this one.

all of my Wammer Hoods and my Blowsion hood came pre drilled........ Ratti's 24/7 hood came without holes drilled, but I think it may have been a timing issue.........

I can see valid issues to both sides........

one thing to consider, the hood gasket you use can really effect the placement of the hoodhooks (Hull side) with the JSS original gasket, I had to raise up my 24/7 hooks, with the newer thinner JSS gasket everything worked out without any modifications.

With the FX1, you are talking about a whole different ballgame when it comes to gaskets, you cannot use the stock front latch with the JSS, you have to make a "Spoon" type latch for it to work (just pointing out how a hood gasket can really effect hood fitment)

My reasoning for not drilling holes is simple...every set up is different (as mentioned by Rick) Personally, I like my hood extremely tight on the hood seal and in combination with the x-metal hood hooks, that hood will "never" come off , even if the rear hood latch is opened (right Charlie!)
I'm glad everybody is happy with their purchase! that means people have more choices just like in other markets . Just like WD, I also had issues with the begining stages of development...but all is resolved due to feedback from riders and forums like these. It seems everybody will have an opinion or remark on everything to justify their purchase but the bottom line is that your happy with your product.

Both products are great looking. Quality has to be similar.

I'd say decide based on aesthetics or cost. If you like the WCF look, over the WDK, and you can justify the price diffrence than go for it. If Price is more of a concern than get the WDK.

I wouldn't be concerned with the junk about pre-drilled or not, it takes nothing to drill a few holes.

Either way you're buying a superior product to stock, and ytou will improve the function and look of your roundie.

It has not proven itself in my books. IF Yamaslut and other riders give it the thumbs up after using it for a full year, then I will change my opinion.

Far too it seems that Cheap = Quality....

Once again, my $.02

looks like this was answered already?????

my Waterdawg hood fits very nicely and looks great on my ski, it fits and seals very tight. i havent not rode with yet.

i have rode a ski with a wammer hood it fit nice as well.

i have rode another with a watercraft factory it also fit just as nice

i havent seen a ski in person with the XFT hood i think those look pretty sweet too.

But for the price on the Waterdawg it cant be beat and the quality is great.
