WDK handlepole

Did some test riding with the new WDK pole and I must say that it is impressive. Feels very light and very sterdy. The construction is spot on with the X-jet billit bracket and the system as a whole is machined to some impressive tolerences. This is evident when installing the streeing cable. It is kind of a bear to get into place but that is b/c the hole it slides through is just big enough for the cable. Once that is buttoned up the cable is securly in place and has better geometry to the to the turn plate.

My only criticism with the pole thus far is the handlepole pad needs a support bracket if doing hood tricks, but that is a easy fix and it would be benificial if the carbon skin was bolted onto the frame of the pole. That way it can be removed easily. It is bonded to the frame as of now.............no big deal but if there ever were a problem with the skin it would allow for easy replacement.

Cable routing through the pole is a breeze. Add a few zip ties to bunch the cables together and it will look great. This whole set up is so tight and sterdy that the only play I get anywhere is out of the turnplate assembly and bars. :brap:

Hope to report back more performance info as I ride more.........I had some drive train vibration and need to get that squared away before I do anything else.

Pole pad is turfed w/ 8mm padding and diamond turf

Looks sweet..but I think you need straight bars...those stick out too far past the pole pad.

may want to run a screw in the nose piese on the front. boss bailey was showing me his seperated wdk hood liner the he did a barrol roll and his nose piece popped off . the little metal bracket on his nose piece in the front didnt hold it on after 3/4 roll attemp off a cruiser wake.

This is the X-Jet, the entire front is solid, no nosepiece to worry about coming off.

i do belive that there isnt a nose piece.its all solid and part of the hull

you are referring the the XJet, he is talking about the SJ Hood that WDK sells.
It comes with a regular lowered nose piece.

What a refreshing post. Glad to read good things. I'm sure the man is doing everything possible. It must make it harder when people are killing him on this forum. Every company has issues from time to time. Its about the comeback. I've been through a few ringers you just have to keep your head above water.

I would be okay with Jeff if he called just every few months to say, "hey man, you know, I haven't forgotten about you". As opposed to me waiting and waiting and being ignored and waiting and hoping and waiting.

I just heard from Jeff, I might have parts soon!

It'll be worth the wait because I think it will be an awesome ski that I can't get anywhere else (and nobody else has).

"Ahh yes... Jeff, good afternoon. This is Ronald Stein from Gorbonski, Davis, and Stein Associates. I've been speaking to my client Michael M. in reference to an order he place with you some time ago. Listen, when you have a chance, please give me a call at XXX - XXX - XXXX. Thank you and have a good day." :sneaky:

Just saw a post on another thread about the skin discoloring/breaking down? Maybe I missed a post somewhere? What the deal with it? I love the looks of these but now I'm not so sure.

Either dont order in CF or have it cleared in auto clear and you will not have this issue. He generally makes the skins in prepreg and paints them. Had he cleared this one it prolly would have been fine.
