We weighed seven skis last week

No he will not!
I have decided it's nearly impossible to completely seal the back end of a ski! I spent a week of evenings sanding, cleaning and sealing every hole, crack and seam in my ski with some stuff similar to 5200..... and I didn't foam the bottom half. Checked it after the first few rides by shaking the ski around and I heard water sloshing  So now, I have a 1/4" hole at the back of each side, and I drain water after each ride, then seal the hole back with Goop and it's ready to go the next day again. It had me pretty frustrated at first, and with some soapy water and compressed air I chased tiny pin holes all over the place until I got it to a point where it is a very slow leak.....and now I just deal with it.

So.......at the end of the day, your ski weighs more than mine?!?

I would have thought that with your anal-retentiveness (no insult intended, sir) that you would have figured out a way to completely seal your ski. I guess it IS possible to seal one, just not probable, so drains are the way to go.

Or you could do like me and run one way valves with just polystyrene foam. As long as you're riding, the tray has virtually no water. If you stop for a little while, water will leak in but never enough to cause problems. Just takes a few seconds of riding to get the water back out.

At least run a plug. It's gotta be better than glueing the hole back up after each ride.

Actually, you're wrong sir. My ski is sitting around 320 right now, dry (no gas or water in the water box)....so take that Mr. aftermarket heavy-ness :wavey: Tell your hull builder that you've seen lighter OEM hulls than your 'lightweight' hull!

This has only been going on for a short time, I will probably add some drain plugs like Matt E has.

I pulled my Mag pump and inadvertenly drained the hull at the same time. I'm probably around 319#, now. :wall:

I talk to my hull builder from time to time. It may be my tone, but apparently he thinks I'm ALWAYS joking...:dunno:

I'm going to call him tomorrow and ask about his warranty! :tomato:

I'm not laughfing so if your serious let's take care of this just like I offered to paint your hull 1 1/2 years ago when you brought up the issue with the gel coat.

Where did the water drain from?...the pump bolts holes? or the ride plate bolts holes. I use epoxy glue on top of the aluminium inserts to seal them. Sometimes if you use a longer bolt, it can push the epoxy off the top . Anyways, I recommend using sillicone on all of the bolts to help seal them.

It may be time to de-foam chick. Is kristy ready to go on a diet?

Really? :261: I remember your offer all too well. In fact I saved your PM and just read it the other day. Your offer was for me to drive down there, hang with you and Charlie, and get a 50% discount on a paint job that should never have been required. Care for me to post it?!? :slap:

Tell you what----I'll sell you the hull back for 1/2 of what I paid you for it, because that is far more than anyone here would pay me for it.

The water drained from the pump inserts, the intake grate inserts, and the side exhaust. I understand your position on this and realize that I will never be able to prove if it was an install problem or a design flaw. I was amazed at the lack of any lubricant or sealant when I took it apart for the first time---especially considering the so-called reputation of the "builder" who put it together for me. I guess I should have known better on both my hull/engine builders. :argue: :loser:

For the record and the uninformed, I am not talking about the current engine for this ski, which is a 5mm TeamScream stroker. :notworthy:

It was time to de-foam a week after it was in the water for the first time...:slap:

And, just so you're up to date here, it's "Kirstie" not Kristy:

It's funny chick that I hung out with you at the x2 ride and yet you said nothing about taking the hull back to fix or paint it, but instead made jokes about it the whole time. WTF!! and now you make a post like this on the forums for everybody to see (maybe you miss the drama!)

You know ,I like to help anybody that has an issue with my products but I sure ain't going to offer a free pick up service.

pick up the dam phone and give me a call ,maybe we can resolve this BS:rocketwhore:

My empty hull weight came in at 53lbs, fully rigged with 5gal of fuel, stock water box, 260lbs. I can't believe it is over 200lbs for motor, pump and accessories.

Dangit now this thread has me wondering if my new(er) Envy has water in it. It feels heavier already.
