Custom/Hybrid Welcome to Alabama

Are the spark plug holes counter-bored in the head? :dunno:
My ADA head has them flush with the head surface.

The plugs recess a bit into the head.

It depends on which type and shape of ADA domes you are using...Flat top/ round tops.

the build is looking great steve! can't wait to check it out at the Navarre ride

Unfortunately, I am not going to be making it to the Navarre ride at all. The Annual Spring Tour of Homes here will be the weekends of April 25 - 26, 2009 and May 2 - 3, 2009 with viewing from 1 pm to 5 pm each day. I will have a house entered in this and I will be the one holding it open.

Is there a Forum for building contractors? If so they need a "build" section. The houses you build are way more impressive than any ski could ever be, even a carbon one. Good luck with the tour, when does your place appear in MTV Cribs?

Thanks for the compliment Boyer. I love building and being creative... I hope it shows in the work I do. I'm sure there is some sort of forum out there, but I have never had the urge to look for one. The Tour is a good way to market yourself, pick up presales, and to get remodel jobs...oh, and possibly sell a home! As far as my house being on Cribs... haha... I'm a nobody that gets dirty and has calloused hands... "I" am not cribs material! :headbang:

In all seriousness, did that head come from ADA like that or did Virgin anodize it? It looks badass.

the head was customized by us a little bit , the gidles studs were counter bored for the 8mm stroke and anodized dark grey with the thrust logo lazer engraved as well . this will be seen on all out new engines to go out to date as well we sell sepratley . looks awsome with steve carbon and black ski theme as well

Got the motor fired up for the first time today after getting all the total loss installed and configured. It popped off real quick and seemed to run pretty good right off the bat. I need to clean up some wiring and a few other things before I take it to the water to see what it is like. After I get it to the water and make sure the motor rocks, I'll get the top deck painted and turf it! :Banane09:

I love this build thread. Somehow I missed it. I thought it was an Alabama riding group thread. Your ski looks tits. It's so fancy and CLEAN.

I took the oem 08 rideplate from stock and widdled away at it some until I got something that I think I want to try on the water. I got my primer and all my switch locations drilled and mounted. I also got my total loss wiring cleaned up. Under the hood is pretty much finished (I hope) except for getting a fuel filler hose and installing it. I need to install my trim cable and slap some turf scraps in the tray ........... and I hope to go get it on the river today for a test ride!
