Super Jet what´s wrong with my ski?

I have a wamilton pro hull and a stock stroke dasa pv 771cc engine, dual 49 full specs and atp flame ignition a oem pump and a 10/16 hooker thats fine.........BUT when I tried my friends ski a 720cc engine ported by himself I think it was oem carburators and maybe an enhancer, it hit way much better than mine...whats up with that!!!!! he also have oem pump but a skat 12/17 instead.
As the title say whats wrong with my ski??? Should I change impeller to a skat or what can I do??

yeah I would like to know that also. my guess would be smaller engine can rev faster and with enhancer, but it hitting harder then your hmmm? oh maybe your bottom end is tired??

We'd like to help, but I need some questions answered.

Who built the motor? How many hours are on it? Have you check compression? Do you know if the crank seals are good?

What pipe are you running, how is the water setup on it?

Have you checked to see if the powervalves operate freely?

Let me know.

I know you are in Sweden, but you can call the shop and ask for Kyle.

Who tuned the DASA?
I bought the engine and carburators new from Customski in Denmark they built it, the pipe (b-pipe) I had from my old setup a lpw 85,5 big bore. The ignition is new from ATP.
Can the pipe need some adjustment or the powervalves maybe.

If a homeported 7xx is doing much better than your engine, then somebody screwed up building & tuning your engine.
I'd take Brian (wsuwrhr) up on his offer and call him.

Hello

The engine has maybe 5-10 hours on it, I checked compression but that was last year then it was 180 psi in both cylinders.
I will do another test this weekend.
It´s a B-pipe limited I think, do you mean the little screws that are on the pipe? they was setup by lpw, I´ve put in a flow control valve.
I hope the crank seals are good because the engine are almost new.
How do I check the powervalves?
When I´m driving the ski and let off the throttle it`s making a rasping sound (skorrande in swedish if someone here know swedish and can translate better then google). I think the sound is from the powervalves is that normal?

thanks/tomas

I am asking general questions to gauge the overall condition/age of the motor since I know little about it at this point.

This is a billet cylinder also, correct?

What I mean by checking the powervalves is if they move freely up and down.

I am assuming this motor has plastic caps on top of the valves, so you will need to remove the pipe to check the valve's operation.

Yes it`s a billet cylinder, and the powervalves has a plastic cap.
If the powervalves don´t operate freely can I repair them or do I need to buy new?

First things first.

Likely you can repair them, but if they are stuck, you will need to figure out why. If in fact that is what is wrong.

So since they are covered by the plastic cap, you will probably have to take the pipe off at the manifold so you can remove the plastic caps.

Well I suppose I´m the bad tuner because it´s me who put the engine in the ski :bad3: This weekend I´m going to do some trouble seeking. Starting with a compression test and checking the powervalves and see if the ignition is good.

Soo now I'm starting over trying to get my engine to work better, I have changed the prop to a solas concord 13/15 and a stubby cone but no difference in the bottom.
Is it possible to change the port timing to get better bottom end? or what can I do..

Will 49mm carbs even work right on a motor that small?

Conversely... thats a big prop for a 771... I'm sure it will turn it... but I run a 10/16 on a 62T 771 and its great. Unless you're racing....

A Solas Concord 13/15 is not a big prop.
The OP is two years old. See most recent post for current prop.
