what am i supossed to do?

to the original question at hand....

I agree 100% that was caused by detonation, with no fault of assembly.

Its very clear the piston has been burnt through....

If the ski was shut down immediatly after the first sign of trouble instead of being ran and limped back the rings would still be intact...and your cylinder would probably still be clean. Running the engine after initial problems arise will always causes more damage....such as the rings and pin bangin around everywhere.

I wouldn't pay a dime...

I just thought of Tommy Boy

You can crap in a box and slap a guarantee on it, but all you have is a gauranteed piece of crap.

Good stuff!

I sold a car a few years back that ran mint. It was a stupid acura integra with a few things done. Some dumbass kid bought it and blew it up like 25 days later. I didnt want to but I took the car back and had to sell it for half to someone else.

No fing way? car? AS IS every time!!

Your all ignorant. Thats not a threat either. I asked him to come over. Most engineers are stupid so its ok guys dont worry. Im sure you were the kids i need to tutor through classes. Im a straight A student with a 1550 SAT. Jokers like you scraping by with C's are why the engine blew up in the first place. An engineering degree from whatever lame state school you got it from isnt worth the paper its printed on.

Well thats ok because we probably arent in the same engineering field. Im also going straight through for PHD so I think it will be more like I wont be hiring YOU. My credentials speak for themselves. This is also the internet and you have no idea what im like in real life. I am mad and not acting quite myself. Im usually an a$$h0le.

You, sir, don't have a clue. The best ME I ever met graduated with a 2.55/4. He is truly the best and most knowledgable non PHD that I've met. We worked in the AEROSPACE industry together designing helicopter modifications. Your gpa doesn't mean a damn thing after your first job. It didn't mean a damn thing for my first job after I got my degree. They asked AFTER they offered and I accepted the job....at a higher than average salary.

Don't be so sure about your PhD being the holy grail of superiority. Going straight through makes you an overeducated and vastly underexperienced conceited know-it-all. No matter what you think you know, if you don't have years of experience to put with your advanced degrees then you don't really know crap except for book knowledge. Even worse, you don't know that you don't know crap. You're not going to get a PhD and instantly be full of money and have people working for you. Not a chance. You'll have no real job experience and most importantly, you'll have NO management experience.

You need to take a serious and factual look at your proposed career path or I'm afraid you'll be in for some huge disappointments and lots of student loans. Graduate. Get a job. Gain real experience while your employer pays for your advanced degrees. That's the way to get a PhD and actually be a valuable and desireable employee.

P.S. I'd be careful about who you call an idiot around here. There are some incredibly bright and well educated people on here. Don't ever ASSume that you are more educated, experienced, or knowledgable than anyone or you'll end up making yourself look like an ass.

I made a joke, it wasn't an insult, you said you wanted to hit me with a brick, but I'm pretty easy going, so I'll brush it off like your joking too.

Everyone is telling you your acting like an asshole, and your arguement is that your not like this in real life and you'll get a good job, and then say, your usually an asshole. That sounds to me like, your an asshole that is argueing that your not an asshole while saying publically yupp... I'm an asshole.

I'm not an expert on the motors. I'm no engineerer. I'm in sales. You may know engines, but it's my job to know people. I'm pretty good at what I do. My professional opinion on you is that your full of it. My 1st sign was that you said over 10 times "No no, this is what happened, you have to look closer, no no, look closer, NO!!! LOOK CLOSER!!! Oh... you can't see that? You must not know ******** about engines". A classic sign of denial.

It also seems like you might be working on a case of being bipolar. One post your really cool, the next 2 your name calling, and the next one after that your back to appoligizing saying you love everyone.

Then again, I may suck at what I do, and be totally wrong about you, but I'd hate if that were true, because then my co-workers must really really suck, or I'm screwing the boss and don't know it.

Listen to this man!

wow i need a new motor for my fx1 and after reading all of this (and having a few bad experiences my self), i am going with the sbt

oh and for the post, you bought a bad motor, maybe a scam and the guy sold it to you knowing it was messed up, really doubt that here. but there are ******** heads that would do that sort of thing. just pay for your own repair and learn a lesson the hard way

well in post 167, i believe, he stated he was running 167psi. i am no engine builder, but if the carbs are set up for stock compression then the carbs are his problem. he should have adusted them or rejetted them for the higher compression. if i am wrong some one please correct me.
