Those pictures you posted show clear signs of detonation to me.
A snagged ring is a violet event that will drop compression in a hurry sending chunks flying but it will not melt the piston ring retainer hole like that.
Here's a picture of a classic ring retainer letting go causing the ring to snag a port.
Notice that there is no melting of the piston and this happened on a high speed run.

Ill take better pictures it looks kind of similar to that. It isnt totally melted. That spatter on yours is melted aluminum. Mine is covered in that as well just alot more severe. The rest of the piston is not melted. It is confined to that area of the piston. Everytime ive had detonation it was not in a single area. They always looked like you took a blow torch to it for hours and smashed it with a sledge 50 times. You can still read the part number off the top of the piston. It def isnt a normal ring snag thats for sure. Im going to take better pictures. I asked all of the techs at work and they all first said detonation. If you look at it closer it isnt as cut and dry. For all i know it snagged a ring earlier and then took a while to cut through the piston and lose compression.

That sounds to me like, your an asshole that is argueing that your not an asshole while saying publically yupp... I'm an asshole.
I'm not an expert on the motors. I'm no engineerer. I'm in sales. You may know engines, but it's my job to know people. I'm pretty good at what I do. My professional opinion on you is that your full of it. My 1st sign was that you said over 10 times "No no, this is what happened, you have to look closer, no no, look closer, NO!!! LOOK CLOSER!!! Oh... you can't see that? You must not know ******** about engines". A classic sign of denial.
It also seems like you might be working on a case of being bipolar. One post your really cool, the next 2 your name calling, and the next one after that your back to appoligizing saying you love everyone.
Then again, I may suck at what I do, and be totally wrong about you, but I'd hate if that were true, because then my co-workers must really really suck, or I'm screwing the boss and don't know it.

we all have a tendency to be anal retentive at times.........if we recognize this trait early enough, we can prevent it from being recognized.......therefore avoiding the syndrome altogether........otherwise we are forced to recognize it in the forum of our peers......LOL
