Damn, my 1989 F150 with 5.0 gets 13-14 mpg usually; 11 mpg recently hauling 3000 pounds to Maryland... Now my Dad's 85 F250 with a 460- that truck got 6 mpg no matter what, like how you described your V10. And it was just as fun to drive, too!

I actually traded in an 88' F250 Lariat with the 460 for my first V10. The mileage was horrible but the low end grunt was awesome.

The Dodge was an upgrade in every way except interior. That 88 XLT Lariat interior is still one of the nicest cabs I have ever owned. The seats were the best.

My daily commute is local stop and go traffic so it's about as bad as you can get. I also take dinner break in my truck and usually have it idling the whole time so that plays a big factor as well.

I had just gotten my truck right and hit 15 mpg, then threw 33x12.5s on it and it dropped again. But I've driven a week doing 55 on the highway and then 70-75, and no difference in mileage, so faster is better!
Then there's my mustang... last time I filled that, it was 4 mpg... Something about a double pumper with 50cc accelerator pumps maybe...

A $20M machine is down due to a single brass fitting and it is not considered a "critical spare". SMH

A replacement is $180 and 5 days out of Germany...

Ran home on my dinner break and whipped one up out of some brass stock and had them back up and running in 2 hours.

These guys are going to miss me when I'm gone!

Ah yes I read the trad about you changing jobs but didn't check the dates! I'm new to the concept that everything stays on the internet forever! Anyway the stuff you build looks top notch. Good luck with the new job!

A little update on my "desk" which is really just a table.

Gotta the main section together, stained, cleared and installed over the weekend.

Got the shelf drying in garage at the moment.

Need to get to the lumber yard and plane down the keyboard shelf to 1" to fit the slides I picked up off amazon. I have quite abit of scrap material that I'm thinking about what to do with. If I can get my hands on a band saw I'm considering making some coasters from the smaller scrap with 1 side live edge.

Who's best to contact for me to get a few small little stainless rings made? About 2" in diameter, no more than an 1/8" tall. I can provide a 2D drawing!

that's pretty freaking awesome --- Great work

Not sure. I havent ran a lathe since high school so im just trying to ease back into it. I have no experience whatsoever with cnc but it would nice if my little side venture takes off as i am looking at building a small line of spacers and adapters for some friends of mine. I have seen a couple of videos of cnc conversions for their bogger 10x22 lathes so i am sure most of what was done for them could be done to this one as well. I would have to learn how to program as well so i may not convert this lathe but if i end up getting serious its always a possibility. Read tons of reviews before pulling the trigger on this and im hoping this will be good for what im wanting to do. Have already found several projects and mods to make for it that will allow me to thread gun barrels or just longer metal stock in general. If anybody has any suggestions on must have tooling or good learning resources i would definitely appreciate it as i know i am more than just rusty at this.

I do all my programming the hard way. Manually! pen, paper, calculator, digital micrometer and then run things through Excel to generate the offsets and step increments.
