I didnt fab up anything, but I have been wanting to buy a welder since I was 16, and today was the day that I finally pulled the trigger! I was going to go with a more expensive Multi Process unit, but instead I bought a brand new Hobart Handler 140. I figured if I use it enough, I will upgrade in the future.

Cant wait to stick metal things together!

Most important thing with welding is cleanliness and a solid ground. Also buy a grinder. :p

OCD, you can fab up a nice "enclosure" (at least walls) with some lexan (bent by heat) and some magetic socket holders. One of my CNC knee mills was making a mess with coolant, and that's what I did. They are there when you want, and gone when don't.

This is a great idea for containing the splatter from the coolant. I think I may actually take this a step farther and use it for my generic non metallic dust shoe with some alignment pins.

Engine is 200 mm forward.

Front flip.

Nice innovation. It looks like the motor mounts are WAY too far forward.. I cant think of anything positive that 200mm forward will do for a freestyle ski? What pipe do you plan on running?

Main reason is an attempt to reduce porpoising on flat water and introduce a sharp edge for cornering, especially when the fuel tank is near empty (I’ve got 3 SJ and they all become difficult to turn at speed low fuel vol)

I live at a lake where it’s a 40km round trip into the town and go on long rides carving big wide turns flat out. No flips for this set up.

Got a stock 760 pipe for a first run. I don’t mind it being heavy as I want this thing to smash through chop.
