I will run a 3 gallons on my powerfactor, I can count in one hand rider that will ride a full superjet tank, beside that 3 galons will be fine

Many lake riders will. There are a few on here that would like an even larger tank than the stock tank just because they have to go so far to get to the good riding spot.

Why fix what is not broken?

It hasen't stopped people in the past, I am not saying "I think somebody should come forward right now and copy a B pipe" I am saying, once FP stops making them, will somebody else pick it up? Do you try to turn everything into an argument? (rhetorical question)

Not sure exactly how you turned that rather true statement into me trying to start an arguement but by all means continue on.......................

Funny this topic comes up, since I have been slowly working on just such an endeavor for the past year. Still working on getting the casting just right,so don't expect to see anything mass produced for awhile. If FPP ever did drop PWC I would have to seriously considder making them for sale in large numbers. For now it's a fun project, and will eventually give me a never ending supply of pipes for my own personal use.

Don't know why you would start a thread with the subject matter.

It seems (to me) that it could be a possible situation and I am curious as to what would happen.
Do you argue that it is not likely that FP will stop production on the B pipe?

Not sure what "yamaNUB....cereal" means either.

I will change the thread title for those of you who do not understand the meaning of hypothetical.

People know what hypothetical means.

Well sh it, anything is possible.

I'm saying that FP, while not offering a dealer price anymore, will likely NOT stop making pipes as long as there is a demand for them.

Like how a 3year old says it. Just a joke man. Cereal?

Let's start a thread, "What if the Human race ceases to exist tomorrow, what will we do?"

Factory Pipe is it, when they stop making pipes it will be because the demand dried up and at that time there won't be enough money for anyone else to invest in it. They are living off their R&D they put into it YEARS ago.

In this economy you aren't going to find anyone else willing to risk that kind of money to tool up for a pipe.

I see what you are saying, would have been easier just to type that the first time. What you where saying and what you may have meant where totally different things, what you said was..

FB does not need publicity like this.

You are the man with the answers, I just had the question. So is it likely that FP will chug along with its relatively small production runs till they stop getting calls for new pipes? I have no idea what goes on in the jetski world outside of the X but it seems to me there is a higher demand for B pipes than there is a supply.

The day is coming very soon where there will be no more 2 stroke produced. I believe this to be next year. Well, they may be produced, just not sold in the USA. At that point what incentive does FPP have to continue producing pipes? Yes they may sell a few but that will dry up not long after 2 stroke ski production ceases.

I think the R&D is the problem.
Around here, when somebody copies something and tries to sell it as their own product, the community here collectively kicks them in the balls.
Thus, you'd have to develop a pipe combination that not only WORKED, but didn't just copy the B Pipe.
Thus, there would be a TON of testing and a TON of tooling (and money in the tooling) before it even got to us end users to even give feedback on it in the field.
I just don't see that happening on a grand scale.

However, if FFP stopped making pipes for our applications, maybe the community wouldn't get all up in arms if someone copied what they have.
Then again, you've got the patent issues (which may or may not have expired).
Lots of variables. Let's hope it doesn't become an issue we seriously need to talk about.

HOWEVER, I have been told that FFP will NOT be making any more FX-1 chambers, because someone at their plant actually THREW OUT THE CASTING they used to make them with, figuring they'd never use it again.
I wonder if someone here wants to make some carbon ones....

Someone else will buy up the FPP pipe tooling and start making them again? :fingersx:

I don't know......Ocean Pro has a few things that I really think could be money makers, and that dude has been trying to sell his tooling for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS.
With no buyers.

Then again, he wants a ton of money for his tooling. He and I even had a discussion about the purchasing the tooling for the oval split nozzle, and if I remember right, the number was very very big.

It also, sounds to me like he is more interested in selling off tooling for multiple items at a time rather than one at a time, but that is a different topic.
