So I have never bought anything from Steve and I can't imagine what it feels like to have my money hanging out and not knowing if I would ever get what was promised but from all the reading I have done on the backie chan and Steve I have come to a conclusion. He always come thru with what was promised and more, is it always on time? No, but that's only because he will not let a hull leave his shop unless he is sure it's to his high standards. Yes the same few guys that have been hating on him since day one will pipe up again and say bs and point out the couple hulls that had problems but every hull builder has problems at first and Steve has done his best to fix every one. I'm not going to lie he really could work on his customer service but he really does great work I have seen a bunch of his hulls in person and I would not think twice about ordering one of his hulls if I was in the market for one!

I would rather have steves crappy customer service and replacement hull deal thing than tony's it is what it is tough luck attitude

but that being said a happy customer is like a pyramid a great hull is one leg and customer service is the other you cant have a happy customer with out both

It should be because its super annoying and not productive/constructive at all.

You are correct^ and for some reason we all keep coming back to read it... So whether it's this thread or the next one, there will always be drama.

Christian, I hope you get resolution soon. Have you had any communication with Steve yet?

I'm looking forward to hear from you and find a solution Steve.Watrboy, yeah me to, well no its been a while. Latest is his reply here, that he will sort things out in he's end first, whatever that means.Well boys, if you think its not productive or constructive, no one is forcing you to read it. At least in getting something out of it, and i suppose thats the main purpose when I'm the OP.

Ok i know none of you personally. I do know steve though and i can tell you that behind the scene he IS working on a resolution to christians deal. I know this whole Phantom deal kinda exploded before he was really ready to start building them. I also do know for fact that the molds aren't quite perfect yet. I did see for my own eyes, and yes i am one who has prepaid for one as well.[in full] I understand that coming from me doesn't help everyone else out but i can promise you this whole thing does matter to steve. I know he may come on here and act like he doesn't care but people deal with stress in different ways. I am not making excuses for him just saying what i know behind the scenes. None of us that spend our hard earned money with anyone should be put through all the grief that SOME think is normal.

I may not no steve on a very personal level but I know he is a great guy and always pulls through when needed. I will always do business with him in future. Good guy. Kudos! ;)

Interesting how some builders claim that negative feedback on the X doesn't have any effect on their business. We all know the truth, this sport is built around a small group of people who all gossip with each other at some point. Steve should feel some repercussions for this behavior, I would be surprised if he doesn't. It would be great to see Steve come through for Christian, as this guy is living the nightmare that we all dread when laying out $$ for an aftermarket hull.

Christian, keep calling and posting your results. I hope everything works out for you!

call me naiive, but how come builders still force the customer to pay for half of their ski before its built? I see thrust advertising fully built skis AFTER they are done and ready to be bought. That's how this should work IMO. A builder produces a product, a customer looks it over, then said customer decides whether or not he likes it enough to buy it. Is there something I am missing? Isnt that how 99% of businesses run? This half down nonsense should have gone away after the first few people got hosed.

First rule of TrendsetterZ Club is to never complain about time schedules on your fully paid hull lest you want to be banished to waiting longer.

Second rule of TrendsetterZ Club is to never complain about time schedules on your fully paid hull lest you want to be banished to waiting even longer.

Third rule of TrendsetterZ Club is to never complain about time schedules on your fully paid hull lest you want to be banished to waiting waaaaaay longer.

4th rule.... don't EVER ask for a deposit refund

5th rule... don't ask for reimbursement for a warranty issue.

6th rule... don't piss off the fan boys who think his business practices should be considered "normal".

7th rule... don't compplain about time schedules.

I dont have a problem with a builder asking for a deposit (within reason)... A small time shop/builder may need some cash flow to help. If absolutely necessary a "draw" schedule should protect both parties....

I for one know that I will never send anyone a few thousand dollars without knowing for sure that they delivery a quality product on time AND great customer service. If you can't accomplish those tasks then I am sorry but you should not be in business.

8th rule of friendsetterz club. Don't expect any for of legitimate business practices.
Actually this could be the one and only rule. Lol
