we sold half the tickets of last year... we went through and entire roll of tickets + some on a new roll last year. This year we didn't even get through a roll.... The dynamic of the ride has changed to people come, don't pay beach patrol for their passes, then put nothing in for the charitys...

Seems like lot's of people use the event for a good time and don't contribute now... I will do my best to make it harder for the spongers toget away w/ that.

hey Nick, how about, have the ride. people come and have a great time. They go out, they party, they hang out with friends. Did I mention having a great time?, go ride some more, get the duck tape out, repair ski, go ride, come back, loan your duck tape to another fool. go ride....................................

notice anything missing???

I think the economy may have had an effect on it this year as well.

I know I had less money to spend this year. (no bonus + wife's income is almost non existent in a service field)

Charge for each boat that is out there or on the beach as well as a tag every rider would have to have on their life jacket, no exeptions and jacket swapping. I threw down $50 for tickets and won nothing, it was still worth just being there.

I didn't know I had to pay for a raffle in order to come to Daytona, only a monthly pass for the skis. Am I missin something?

Doesn't a freeride mean just that?

7 grand is still a hole lotta money that I'm sure all the charities really appreciate. Nick don't sweat it you did a great job. There will always be the freeloaders but there will always more people that appreciate the hard work you put into it and will give back in return.

Sorry Slut, I know how much work this was for you. Wavedaze had a few slackers too.

I don't thinks it was the economy, I think the crowds gave people the chance to hide and they did. I did lose a sticker on my ski the first day, but I'd be willing to give the numbers/name on the registration form.

Last year I paid for 2 ski's and bought $80 in tickets.
This year I paid for 2 ski's and bought $50 in tickets.

I think the prizes were more intimidating last year then this year, or I just needed more.

Keep up the good work and the wavejunkies will be there again next year to represent, and once again prove

What! What!
Be proud Nick. $7000 is $7000 more than you began with. I bet you won't get any complaints from your beneficiaries. It was, and is a noble effort.

Ride on!

if yo ubuy too many tickets - everyone bitches at you
Yeah, I've heard that before:stups:
I thought the raffle was handled great this year.
I think a good idea to pull in more. Would have someone walk up & down beach selling tickets & telling people about.
Glad to hear all the charities got a nice chunk of change!

Cape Coral FL,
WRISTBANDS for every rider on the beach!
One color for riders at one price which includes a one ski entry fee.
(if you bring extra skis you buy an extra armband to put on the handlebars, no sticker stuff to take the paint off)
I have been involved in offshore powerboat racing for 12 years, this is the way they have always done it and it seems pretty simple and works very well:
no wristband, no admission!
Just my 2 cents.
