The rocker and tray width are pretty minor. The 105lb weight is good for surf as long as the strength is up to par. A heavily reinforced SJ is much heavier than that
Hey guys just thought i would add some details as few people have some misconceptions about my hull being just a rocketed super jet … its all good it does still resemble one with the lines..
The tray is about 3.5 inches wider than a superjet and the lifters go all the way to the out side of the tray so when in the lifters you are pretty far apart
The intake was widened to operate at higher speed and also the tubbies and front was reshaped
The rails where also halved on the front so they won't break when slamming the sand (just to note not one nose has been repaired on a FP1 ever from lawn darts)
the chines where reshaped slightly (more rounded not by much but just enough) the whole rail is rocketed not just the underside like the kits you buy , about 3 inches in fact
the ski is the same length as a an evo just by chance as the FP1 was built before the EVo came out
The mounts are all 100 % infused i know a few skis with battery trays that come out and some threads stripping in outer models.. all mine are fully sealed brass made for salt water
The ski has a built in splash guard
The hood has an inner lip areas and double seal
My ski will run around a race track as well as any race boat as i made sure the rocker was done at the right place … and it does have the set back pump so i feel its great for both small and big surf , as for the weight of the ski i find the best weight to be 45-50 KG as the lighter the boat the more they bob around and also get pushed around by waves.
Not everyone will like my hull as some guys like to slide around and not be able to bank a hard turn … you can't have a super stable wide boat and then also make it turn as hard as mine ….so the upside is the ability to outrun a wave and turn and hit the lip and do a turn where your elbow is nearly in the water but you can still flip it off i 1-2 foot wave… everyone will have the good and bad point of there hulls i could have made mine wider then they will bounce around and be more stable at lower speed and just doing little circles waiting to just do a flip or roll … i grew up slashing and carving waves… my hull takes a few rides to get used to as it changes direction so quickly … it requires set up and individual rider time to get used to it … we know have the choice as manufacturers and consumers to choice skis based on individual characteristics and performance .. mine are built to turn and to handle at speed other skis are easier to ride and more stable , some are shorter and easier to flip and spin… the best option i say to people is as the guy who has one and see where they came from and what they ride like now.. i know a lot of guys who ride pre 08 hulls and don't like my skis and went with rickets and Krash hulls , then there are guys who chose mine and don't like a Rickter and a Krash , its not saying they are bad its just they are different , i have a factory that just does all the infusion and parts and and the guy who assembles them is me and i am just happy to have someone come up to me and who has bought a hull from me and rides one of my hulls and say he or she loves there ski (as we have at least one girl who rides one KAT ) this is the only reason i ever built the FP1 as i was not happy with hulls that can't turn at speed or are two short and to hard to ride out of big 180's or reentries , i build surf skis and general recreational skis for carving around a lake and or doing rolls off boat wakes,
anyway i just thought i would say a few words on what is a passion for me and that is free ride surf jet skiing , i hope that people will ride mine and own them and say that it is "one of the best" as there are several great companies and choices now all offering there unique brand and ideas , the best thing to come out of all this in innovation and redevelopment as there is so many options its hard to stand out from the rest , i do that by word of mouth and build quality and a product , there was a phrase told to me by someone who i think is very relevant " price is forgotten long after quality is remembered "

So how does it handle flat water riding?
I don't care for the single purpose build hulls. Old school Flatwater. As long as I can roll it I am happy.flatwater as chasing buoys matey ?? handles sweet. can rail mine harder than my superjet. let the weight of the backfoot however and thats another ball game haha. slidy as all hell. i am running a worx d though. and if your talking about freestyle. he also makes a fpx that is 100mm shorter again. never ridden one but theres a few videos on youtube of it in action
