Guy had a pin hole in a radiator hose line. Stopped in because he saw the garage door open and asked for some electrical tape. Couldn't help but take some pictures. Parts are from 7 different cars/trucks and things laying around the house. Was very neat to see

Picked up my new ride yesterday.....been a long time coming but I finally pulled the trigger! It is a 2017 Kona Honzo AL/DL. I went with a hardtail because ive never owned a full suspension bike, or legit mountain bike for that matter, and I raced BMX for quite a long time, so this gets me closer to my roots. Time to tear up some trails.

sweet ride! Is that a dropper post i spy?? if so, be sure to get the bike fitted to you so that you do not kill your taint/prostate from riding more than 5 miles at a time. Sitting on the saddle for a long period of time and not being fitted properly can cause major issues down the road.

Yea its a dropper post! The bike is pretty well equipped.

And what do you mean properly fitted? The bike shop set me up but since it is a dropper post, I can adjust it on the fly and put it wherever is comfortable at the time. What do I need to consider?

So when I got my first bike, I just rode it as is and would be in tons of pain in the grundle area about a mile or 2 into the ride. Told my local bike shop what was going on and was advised that i was not properly fitted to the bike. They had me bring the bike in and sit on it to see what my positioning was like and how far my legs extended. After getting a shorter head piece and a longer seat tube I no longer had any pain while riding. I just recently upgraded to a trek fuel Ex8 and they had to do a bunch of adjustments on the dropper post and headset to make it so the bike was comfortable for 20 plus mile rides as well as functional for downhill sections.

This is just my experience.

Makes sense! ill take it back in to get fully fitted when I take it in to get tuned up after a few rides. I just figured any pain was caused by having such huge balls and a big member. :D:D:D:D

Yea I know what the seat post is for! lol but it is really nice to adjust on the fly

That is medium frame and my inseam 32-33 ish.

But they do come in different sizes and are limited to how much they can rise and drop.. that's the only reason why i mentioned it. I have a buddy who just recently bought one and it is too long for the bike, so it does not drop far enough for when he goes down hill, but it raises to just the right height for when he is climbing. I have no clue how to size them, I just let my local shop do it for me hahah.

I have a dropper on my EX9 27.5 19.5/18.5 frame size. I love it, especially the Rock Shox post because it will lower to what ever height you want, others have presets that can be an issue. Probably what your buddy had. Typically you set post so the seat fully extended is where you ride at. Then lower from there. Matt, did you test ride a Large frame? I am 30-31 inseam and ride Med-Large Frames. my EX 9 is a ML size. But trek has typically more size options than most. Not just S, M, L, XL. But everybody is different. If you feel to cramped you can go with a longer stem. I had to on my EX9, front end was to light, was washing out, added about 10mm and got more weight over the tire.
