That's actually only a 50 Amp fuse but for 5KV, (5000 Volts). One of my current projects is to upgrade a fire water pump house from 200 HP diesel and electric fire water pumps to 300HP.

I have to replace the entire service starting at the high voltage switchgear. This includes a new transformer, 400 ft of HV underground cable and all new pumps and controllers.

The 100 Amp replacement fuses are $398 each and you buy 6 at a time. Sounds expensive but they are actually cheaper than the double barrel 400 Amp fuses I bought last month at $1800/each.

Out with the old...





And in with the new, much smaller but more powerful turbo diesel pump!

We have a similar setup here. It was terrible to start until I suggested a block heater. Now it fires up pretty quickly.

The blue emergency generator is pretty cool. It’s an international/harvester engine. Big block, runs on natural gas.

It's looks to be 20+ years old too, just like our old stuff. Ours was all in perfect working order too, just not big enough to meet the new demand of what we added in the past year at this facility.

I was surprised to see both the old and new units came with circulating block heaters. Standard practice up north but down here in the South, they don't even bother with heat trace.
Even if you don't see temps low enough to justify them, keeping the block up to temp on a unit that will be required to start and operate at full load within seconds is kinda important.

Completely overhauling 2 superjets for a client. He is the original owner of both skis, and has been riding the snot out of them. I honestly can’t beleive they ran after opening up the boxes.

When l tore down the old glass SF,l was ashamed.l haven't touched it since l bought it 4 years ago.Not a good thing to do.

I bought a cheap fitness fanny pack and threaded it through my lifevest for a nice little spot to put my tow strap. It's out of the way but perfectly accessible with one hand.
