Finally finished swapping out my dual Buckshots for a single mikuni 44 today. Started out buying a single intake manni off ebay. Came ready to go for a Keihin 38mm. Trouble was i bought a fresh SBN 44..... heres my afternoon in pics:

hahah very cool!Absolutely! It's amazing that they still run great after 30+ years. Surprisingly none of these needed carb rebuilds either. Even when properly stored and winterized, there are plenty of units(especially new ones) that endup needing carb work. It's ridiculous. The only thing with these lawn boys is with the rich oil mixture they originally used(32:1) there was more carbon and sludge buildup compared to the 50:1 we run them at now. Yes they still have carbon buildup, but not as much when using 50:1 with really good oil. One of them today had two out of the three exhaust hole ports completely clogged...The lawn boy's were the best! That is what i learned to mow the lawns with back when i was a wee lad..
