To me, this is one of the lightest moderated forums I've been to. You want to see moderation, head over to Pirate4x4.com and check it out. Huge site with a ton of members and massive moderation (2 or more moderators per section). Amazing that they have control over there, but the membership moderates itself.

For instance, a for sale rule is that you MUST post price (just like we have here). No make offer, or PM for price, just straight up pricing. If you don't, the membership will tell you to post price if GTFO. The thread usually gets reported in that time as well and the poster gets a warning or the thread gets deleted. I don't mind that. He wants his stuff sold, he posts price, that simple.The for sale section is kind of like a luxury section. We come for the tech, but we like to browse for parts too.

I've told people who post want to buy stuff that they are in the for sale section and the people jump all over me. WTF? It's ok to post where ever you want? Say I want a dingle arm. Can I post a WTB in General, Freestyle, Driveline, Super Jet, For Sale, WTB all at the same time? Where is the line. Seems people complain about the line so much it is almost no-existent.

IMHO, if the membership agrees on the forum rules, they should be followed and enforced 100% of the time. Sure, not everything is cut and dry. But for instance, we do have a price post rule. It does not get enforced, so why even have it?

I have a friend that no longer logs on here,hasn't for two months now,he says the constant BS and turmoil here messes up his attitude and that he just really doesn't need it anymore.I have gotten some really good info off this site,hopefully I have given back my share as well.But you know what he is dead on on some of his observations and try as I might I cannot dispute his logic.I see way too many know it alls here,what advice I do give is based on 20+years exp in PWC's ,peeps with little to no exp will come in and start arguing with me,which is fine but it gets old when it happens day in and day out.This is why most of the people here that have acquired a vast array of knowledge don't post that often anymore,I could name a few people but take a look around you can see who isn't posting anymore.Just something to think about folks.

What do you suggest to fix the 'constant BS and turmoil' or at least minimize it?

One person doesn't cause that, or even a few when you have 1400+ active members (logged on in past 2 weeks, Threads: 41,424, Posts: 639,139, Members: 6,043, Active Members: 1,443) it takes a group or group mentality.

One thing I've learned is you can't change people's minds/attitudes on the internet, so I don't even try. If this is the way our members are, then that's how it's going to be and we all just have to live with it or move on like some people have done.

I prefer to not participate in the drama threads, they do me no good whatsoever.

Terry, that's the unfortunate reality of internet message boards.
Real experts or 14 year old punks, everybody has a screen name, and the reader has no way to distinguish facts from bull. I personally cannot think of a way to stop that.

The issue involves lots of members, not anyone person in particular.
