Terry, that's the unfortunate reality of internet message boards.
Real experts or 14 year old punks, everybody has a screen name, and the reader has no way to distinguish facts from bull. I personally cannot think of a way to stop that.
Can you?
sure they do. it takes a little time to get the lay of the land, but after a short time you get to know who knows what and who is full of bs. 212 x2??
It only takes a second to look up previous threads started by and post from and read up on them. after a few threads its easy to tell if someone is new, average joe, or pretty knowledgeable guy.
Terry, I know where you are coming from. you can lead a horse to water my friend. after that its on them. I have posted once or twice with the exact answer asked for and been brushed off and it ticked me off. why ask if you don't listen? If you don't like the answer too fricken bad! the truth is the truth and no amount of bs is gonna make a rusty crank not rusty!( just an example- not related to anything) but you know what? I know better and they don't sometimes you just have to have to attend a few classes at the school of hard knocks to get some sense. might even open your eyes to who really knows how much about what.
I think the mods to a great job. Really thanks guys. You stop the bs when it reaches critical and let everything else run its course. you can't be everywhere all the time. There are a few members I can't stand and I do my best to stay away from them because the temptation is sometimes overwhelming to tell them what a tool they are. it does no good and just ends with me being more pissed especially at myself for thinking I let myself sink down to their idiot level to try and what? win an argument with an idiot? how does one do that exactly? you cannot argue with a person who is not playing with a full deck. well you can but its like running in circles- you get nowhere fast.
I like Pete but I think he is neurotic. I saw no attacks but he did. even if everyone ganged up and started to tell him how they felt- why should he care? it changes nothing as far as his life is concerned. its just an opinion and people will always have them. He let himself sink down- way down and now we are without the good things he brings to the site. on the same token its not fair that the rest of the world(or our world) have to tiptoe around him for fear that something we might say will set him off.
maybe some of you are like me and search for info, read the new posts for something interesting or usefull that I don't know and post up questions when stuck or search failed to be useful. but I think some tend to look for drama. thats fine but if it bothers you that people fight on a thread- leave that thread. sure its easy to take sides and the stronger you feel then all the more reason to leave. cause in the end what has ever changed because of a fight on the net?
some drama is very important- most waterdog threads for example. yes :deadhorse: I know. but it does make you aware of what you are getting into. and who would believe you if all those threads were deleted and just replaced with jett posting a simple paragraph summarizing it all?
ignore the bad, don't become part of the problem. help out those you can and use search and the golden rule.:fing02:
