I've been riding forever, I had an intense 5.5 and a kona stinky downhill bike,

My welcome to DC was some bastard stole both of them out of my garage, simply devastating....only thing that kept me sane was ski season was starting....now Im going insane...

bike thieves are the scum of the earth....so are jet-ski thieves for that matter.....really hits you hard bc cops could care less.... and most of our toys are uninsured....I would rather have my car stolen any day (and cops actually care about that)....

moral of the story....keep your stuff locked up with the biggest badest lock you can find..

I just went Mountain Biking for the first time today and I can say I am hooked. There is a 7 mile loop in downtown Milwaukee rated to be pretty technical and boy was I surprised at what downtown Milwaukee had to offer. I always thought I could ride a bike well, but apparently not. I found myself walking my bike over some logs and objects. I plan to go again on Saturday and I can't wait. I am a college student in decent shape, playing basketball a few times a week and lifting 2-3 times a week, but that trail kicked my butt.

I currently ride a GT "backwoods" hardtail, probably 6 or 7 years old with rock shox. It is defiantly not a top of the line bike but at my current skill level it gets the job done.

I am really glad I went out to try Mountain Biking because I don't know if I will be able to ride my ski much this year due to school, but now I have something to take its place.

For all of you old men too old to BMX but too young at heart to enjoy LONG solitary lactic acid build up session ...

... my MTBMX -- great for short commutes to work (8 miles) when it's not 100 deg out -- also great at the dirt jump trails and the skatepark. Freestyle for the mountain biker ...

Nah - I just ride it the way I rode a BMX as a kid. Don't knock it till you try it. Just like a couch rider doesn't understand a freestyle stand-up rider.

BTW - the gear ratio is 28:12 - that's a pretty tall wheel.

Here's Lenosky - blame him for the Giant STP:

I still have my old BMX race bike but I have retired it and now have fun tearing it up on my Black Market Riot. This thing is so much fun. My buddy has a pump track in his back yard, it is such a blast and a great workout! WaveDemon, defiantly don't bash it till you try it!! SMP nice ride!
