right now i am thinking 62t cases(ported) 61x jugs (resleeved?) bored to 86mm. ported myself lightweight flywheel, big carbs drypipe etc

From what I gather, most aftermarket companies won't bore a 61x cylinder to 84mm let alone 86, so I'd say yes. Now if it were on 64x (760 with 62t timing) sleeves, I don't know about the max bore on those.

Even with BB sleeves, I wouldn't go to 86. You'd have only a bore or two left, and your head/dome options are limited.

with 84 mm, i would have to use any 701 head with 760 domes, correct? im not worried about not having any bores after 86, but if i needed domes i would need 760 domes (for 86) then have them machined? thanks

It's more complicated than that. Above 86mm, many domes don't have any sealing surface (room for O-Rings) left.

Yes. Without any overbores left.

What you gain by going from 84.5 or 85.0 to 86.0 is negligible. I wouldn't give up the ability to bore up for a few cc's.

i think you raise a good point. so if i choose, 61x jugs resleeve them, and if its 760 just bore then 1 over.

the cylinder isnt gonna make up the power difference he will lose by going to a b-pipe
