Funny, im sure the 5,000+ people that made the treck down to the shore line at the London bridge at night time to watch us ride would disagree with you.
People actually do make money doing what we do, doing shows. The last show I did was during the Calgery Stampede and it brought in over 150,000 people to watch in just 2 weeks.
Attitudes like yours is what won't push the sport.
Dude 5000 is NOTHING!!! and that's WORLD FINALS ATTENDENCE NUMBERS, plus WF is FREE! How many would have been there if there was an admission?? The Calgary Stampede is a MULTI VENUE Equestrian/rodeo event which I'm sure is very popular in TEXAS, so I certainly wouldn't attribute the attendance of that event to any freestyle watercraft sideshow. (No insult intended) Here in San Diego CA, which has a greater population than the entire state of Texas, The city of Oceanside will not even consider us for a free ride event because past events have drawn to few of spectators to justify shutting down a section of beach. Yes that was a real slap in the face and is the main reason for my posts. I'm sorry you feel I have a non supportive attitude, because I'm not trying to fight with you or anyone else, I'm just pointing out a little dose of reality- our sport has few followers, not because it isn't cool, just because they like other things. Consider this, Do you get all amazed when you see a dude Back flip a snow mobile? Yeah its cool and all but nothing you haven't seen a 100 times before at any extreme sport event, well that's how they feel when they see us do extreme stuff in our sport.
