wrong hooker?

Hi all, rode my eme micro today which has a impros hooker 10/16. Ski has a freestyle ported 64x 760, dasa dual 48's with dasa Mani, tornado fa's, power factor pipe, msd enhancer, milled head, zero flywheel, Solas mag pump. Ski revs right up when gassed, but seems to cavitate off bottom and is really lacking, but hauls arse off top. I assume the pitch is way wrong, although it was the pitch recommended by Dave at impros. Any advice? Thanks

How good is the seal around the pump? sounds more like your sucking air, I ran a 11/17 with a 61x 762 last year, and it felt like i could go down a prop size or two. I dont have a PFP however so i cant compare directly. impros is probably right on the pitch.

if the whole pump is under water does it cavitate? or does the cavitation happen after the water has left around the pump? I wouldnt personally think you'd be spinning a 10/16.

Most likely a leak.
What cone and nozzle bore do you have? you might to open up a little? but that shouldn't effect it enough to spin 10 seconds

Solas pump raider wear ring, raider reduction nozzle, protec +50mm raider nozzle. I installed the same setup on my brothers ski( pump nozzle setup)on his SJ and it works well. Light layer of silicone on mid shaft. I will check with a light tomorrow

I just had to go up from a 9/15 to a 10/16 on my 701.

Cavitated like crazy with a Solas mag pump. Rode with the 10/16 today and it was night and day difference. Much better.

Air intake is stock eme hood vents, when I give it gas from a stop it revs up but just lags before it goes, my modded 550 gets up faster off the bottom :/ I just checked my pump seal and its solid.

DAG prop gauges work good. Only complaint is the trailing edge numbers only go down to 17.

I just checked the pump shoe, on the intake grate side of the shoe it is 1/8" above the wear ring and up top the wear ring extends 1/8" below the pump shoe. Will this cause cavitation? Looks like eme installed iincorrectly.
