I have no personal experience with this, but that is basically how stroker cranks started, way back in the dirt bike days (and 440 / 550 days). I don't see any issue with it, as long as it's done properly.

Should I bevel or round off the area I'm pointing at in the 2nd pic? How large should the areas on the sides of the top go? I've seen people go HUGE through there, but also some moderate work as well.
