    FX-1 Slutty FX1 build 2013 / Surf Ski

Either way it wont be a horrible choice. Just keep in mind, i will bet you that those people who say it will be ok, either have built already or are building a ski with a bigger pump. Funny you dont see JD ride the orange ski much anymore.... hmmmmmm lol. No offense meant!

    FX-1 Slutty FX1 build 2013 / Surf Ski

Nick do yourself a favor and take the time to do the 144 yamaha swap. Coming from a superjet you will be dissatisfied with the hook up of the 140 kawi. The 140 kawi is worlds better then the stock fx pump but to make the 140 kawi have anywhere near the hookup of a stock yamaha 144 you need to...

Custom/Hybrid Front foot hold in an XFS

For everyone who doesnt feel like doing the conversion to LBS: XFS glass: 110-112 XFR glass: 121-123 XFS carbon: 94-97 I did NOT know they were that heavy. I knew they were a bit heavier then other short aftermarket hulls but DAMN!!! Pretty much a deal breaker for me. My current surf fx with a...

Surfriding K&N Dry charger reliability and maintanence

Ive always been a firm believe in staying with stock flame arrestors for anything being run in salt water. I do however like the idea of an open filter flame arrestor. I know there are tons of "pre filters" available for just about any kind of filter ever made. I just recently realized that the...

Custom/Hybrid Front foot hold in an XFS

Pics of any xfs/xfr with a front foot hold would be awsome. The xfs/r is really tempting me after riding it. Just a bit nervous about getting my weight placement correct (front foothold would help this) and im a bit worried about the weight. Thinking maybe just reinforcing a xfs rather then...

    Removing Mikuni Carb Paint

Im sure zero will chime in but def will not hurt the bushings. However if left in the cleaner for any length of time it could def dry out and ruin any rubber parts of the carb (o rings included).

Custom/Hybrid Front foot hold in an XFS

What did you do with the e box? move it up from its stock location on the to angle section the goes up to the hood or move it to a side location?

Custom/Hybrid Front foot hold in an XFS

I just rode an xfr last week for the first time. And even though the xfr has a bigger tray then an xfs, I still felt to get my weight where I wanted it would be easier if my foot/toe was able to get a few inches further forward. On another note what does your xfs weigh bare?

Super Jet 5mil Billet Rad crank , 62t cyilnder

89mm x 73mm= 907.8cc. sleeves would be your make or break on this engine. with a 62t cylinder you will def need to do some tweaking to get a +5mm striker to have correct port timing for low to mid range. piston pop up will be pretty far oit the top. custom domes will be needed for this reason...

Other What is my cylinder worth?

You really should ask what about it was over ported. If port width is the issue. Then there is not much that can be done to save it. If port height (timing and duration) is the issue you MAY be able to lower the cylinder down and run more piston pop up to get desired timing. If it's a Stroker...

Freestyle Diagnosing Powervalves- Rear works, front doesnt! Help! Stumped!!!

Wasn't on a power valve engine but a friend a few years ago ran half the summer with his engine not running on one cylinder. After complete ignition change and alot of frustration he gave me the carbs and the slave butterfly wasn't even moving. Carb coupler was stripped on the butterfly shaft...

    Custom/Hybrid Vision talk...

I did not get to ride josh's at wave daze. He and I had text back and forth about getting together for a Thursday ride before wd but he couldn't get out. Then when he did get.to ride his steering broke only minutes later. Not that I don't like big HP but I would love a test ride on a vision in...

    Custom/Hybrid Vision talk...

The vision is def the hull most interesting me right now. I also like the look of the foot rocket but its a bit heavier in glass form then the vision and isnt American made. No offense to our OZ friends but love to keep my investments state side. But my biggest questions is can the -4 hull be...

    Custom/Hybrid FX1 top / SJ Bottom

Totally defeats the purpose of having an Fx. Pump size is only problem with the Fx. Bottom hull shape is the reason the Fx is as good as it is.

Freestyle First PHP 898 with Nikasil!

I use powerseal for all my micro sprint engines nikasil. They do a fantastic job and do it for me for $135 per cylinder (including removing old coating). Nikasil is in my opinion the superior cylinder wall material. And for years ive shook my head as to why yamaha didnt design the 701+ cylinder...

Other PHP 937 or DASA 970?

Ok this may be long.... As for the dasa port timing. The ports being "too tall" is mostly only true on the SS motors. They purposely make them a bit higher as they feel as if the stock stroke engines would more commonly be put in a variety of boats with a variety of different uses (ie buoy...
