I have one I never put in because it was loose. Tried searching and saw people said put a set screw in it. Talked to a buddy that runs a ski rental and he said that all he uses are sbt and never had one where the insert wasn't plenty tight. He goes through one weekly he said.
I filled out the contact us form on their site and got a reply not long after. That about a week ago.
There was a thread like this like a year ago which just happened to be the last time I talked to them and it was also using the same method. I think they like me.
the dude that wrote that article is a fan Sea Doos and Ford diesels. I'm going to stick to my Sam's Club special which is Pennzoil semi synthetic for under $20 a gallon. But for real. I don't believe that fancy oils are worth the price. I'd rather rebuild every couple seasons and not worry about it.
Those look like the tempo fuel lines that came on sea doos in the 90's. They clogged a ton of carbs and ruined a ton of motors. I think it happened with the addition of ethanol
It'll bring it above negative buoyancy and it'll float like a stock hull does when they aren't waterlogged. It'll bob at the surface. Doesn't matter where the noodles are, just like your life jacket. Sit on it or put it on on your chest and you'll bob at the surface
I love winter. I did legit math a while back and I guarantee 4.5 noodles will float any ski with ease. This is 2.5" x 60" noodles with no hole in the center. The number for lighter weight hulls and and to just barely be buoyant is more like 3.5.
Sounds pretty reasonable. Scott Watkins was supposed to have designed it but I don't think he was with Yamaha until after that. He's still around and has talked about designing the fx-1 and hasn't said anything like that. Somebody should ask and see what sort of truth is in it.
II dunno about...
We're pretty simple here in NC. Just fill out a form that says its homemade and mail it in. Sometimes they'll ask you for a picture of the back right of the ski to see if you just modified a stock hull, which would mean you don't get a new hin as it already had one.
I wouldn't be scared to buy...
Pretty much the same thing but with a crook in it. Dunno why the link doesn't work but just search strap tool.
And for those without a ton of tools, pawn shops are a great place to go to make specialty things like that or a factory pipe manifold wrench or just an extra 10mm to leave in the ski...
I've used that on wetsuits. Don't remember how I tore it but it's a few years ago and is still just fine. I bet the cup helps a lot. Mine was a tear that I repaired and the glue dried with a real rough finish. I was able to sand it smooth though and don't notice it at all now
I ended up not bringing a propane tank or burner with me but I do have a pot and oil. If @wrighteous or @TLR67 could let me use a burner, that would be great. I think @Matt Jones is bringing some propane
