Looks like a test cylinder. Remove the bridge from one side, run her hard, compare the ring wear from one cylinder to the other :)

All these chunks of crank bearings and crankcase aluminum help filter the oil, right? 2005 FX HO. Blew a rod right out the side and by the looks of it they ran it back to the dock :)

Sounds like the crank you are trying to use may have had a sleeve on it at some point. SBT sleeves the seal area when it is corroded or damaged - not sure how much (if any) material they remove, but that's my best guess. The sleeve they install can slide off and be lost once they coupler is...
