UPDATE on mine, ordered a custom length shaft from Jetmaniac for $150 and it works like a charm!
figured I can easily sell me only shaft and housing to make up the difference
The only issue I saw with the bigger bearing was that the shoulder on the driveshaft which the front seal sits on might be too far back for it to properly seal..
my guess is that stock hulls have a tolerance that allows for that much of a difference...maybe when some aftermarket hulls are made when the bulk head/pump distance was set they may have over looked that tolerance? By that I mean they set the midshaft all the way back as far as it can go on the...
I understand that it seems weird...but the comparison to the stock setup ( pumps right next to eachother ) clearly shows that the shaft is longer in the first picture.
Yeah mine was .3" from the back too.
the midshaft is where it should be, ~20mm from the back of the housing, plus you can see from the comparison to the stock set up that its way longer
Does your midshaft seat?
Alright here is the deal. I bought a solas pump and put it all together and came to realize that the shaft is sitting about 1/4" too far forward which means my midshaft will not seat against the bulk head.
Known:
-the shaft is 26 1/8" long which is the same as a stock shaft
-it worked...
I've decided to try running a Ballistic Evo2 battery this year (http://www.ballisticracingparts.com) and was wondering if anyone has started producing smaller battery boxes for all the small batteries coming out lately?
Glad they are starting to get back to you Nolan. I wonder how hard it would be to say "we leave the turf undone so when you receive it you are able to adjust to your foot sizes" when the hull is sent?
