I could use some help from the collective before I start throwing parts at my ski.
Some of you might remember Project Boat Anchor https://www.x-h2o.com/threads/project-boat-anchor-superjet.193224/
So after 3 years of delays, no water in the lakes and a year recovering from back surgery my 13 yo...
Only word of caution is some of the 650 coils have Resistor plug caps so you need to run non-resistor plugs. The later ones are non-resistor caps so they run resistor plugs.
No, it has been fighting me the entire way.
First startup it would not rev past 1/2 throttle and seemed to be hitting the rev limiter at 4,000 rpm. Turned out the be a bad coil.
Next the fuel system would not hold pressure. Turned out to be a big crack in the front of the fuel tank that was not...
As said, the failure was the hollow extension.
When I made my hitch hauler for towing a single jetski trailer I used 2" solid bar stock sleeved with 2" ID hitch stock for the body of the hauler. It is heavy AF but will not bend or break.
I can't speak for the sheet goods but the pre-cut one I saw seemed exactly the same as the WSM and BlackTip junk. It just isn't as squishy as it used to be. My guess is it is all exactly the same except for the branding logo cutouts.
Well, I guess it’s about time to cut to the chase.
Engine is installed and everything connected. I have a few mm clearance on the electrical box.
The gas tank is shifted as far as it can go because of the rear exhaust exit and touches the Bread Box outlet so I’ll have to keep an eye on that...
Been making slow progress as my back still isn’t back to normal.
This Rhaas kit has been a pain in the ass but maybe because it’s a rear exhaust. I had to grind the crap out of the battery tray and even stuff in a pool noodle to keep it from cutting into the hose.
I also couldn’t get the...
Makes total sense, you don't need a valid drivers license to rent a car either. Wait......
We were at the local lake over the weekend and I was shocked to see the people going full speed through the "no wake" from the marina and going the wrong way were all rentals, shocked I say!
My...

I poached a 550 driveshaft/carrier and pump from my friends honey hole so no driveshaft brace required. The 550 impeller just arrived from Impros that was repitched to a straight 19 degree.
The dealer is an idiot.
If it is a stock head and an OEM gasket there is no reason to replace them, they do not wear out or go bad.
If it is running fine the gasket is fine, there are plenty of these running around still with the same gaskets they left the factory with 30 years ago.
That flow number seems really high.
I don't design pumps but I spec irrigation pumps all day and 5,400 gpm is really big.
In our industry 5,400 gpm @ 35 psi would take a big 13" diameter impeller with a 10" discharge centrifugal pump with a 150 HP engine.
Damn how time flies. Been 2 years since I worked on this and with last year having the lakes dry and emergency back surgery nothing got done.
I’m 9 months since L4-L5 surgery and finally feel like I’m getting better, it’s been a very long and painful journey.
My son’s long time friend is...
You can get the complete start/stop harness with the switches for about $80 online.

It doesn't include the housing or the red and green buttons but is all the electrical parts.
I keep one in my "Save a Weekend" parts tackle box.
That OEM Yamaha line is very thick, probably why it lasts 20+ years.
You should be good to go for another 20. I did the same thing on my WB2 and just bought the OEM line.
