1184 for almost 30 years with no issues and I pressure test every engine. Cases should be spotless and final wipe down with brake cleaner. Thin coat of 1184 on both case halves, and by thin you should still se some of the machining. Don't worry about it drying out as it is semi-drying anyways...

Been using 1184 for almost 30 years now and all the previous names 1104, 1104D. It is the same as PermaTex MotoSeal, Yamabond, Kawachem, HondaBond and is the correct stuff for cases. I use small wooden medical swab sticks, think of a long q-tip stick but wood. I spread an even thin coat to both...

Judging from the wear on your midshaft coupler your engine is way out of alignment too.

You can disable the stock limiter. There is a thread here somewhere.

No @waxhead you didn’t let anyone down. I was just bummed since you said they would be coated since as you said as cast doesn’t look very good.

Probably should have let us preorder customers know that since you indicated they would be coated. Even your 550 pipes come in white powdercoat and these are replicas of a different pipe that’s coated.

So these are shipping now… what coating did you decide on?

As much as everyone talks crap about the 650 they are still stupid fun. I bought a stock one for my son and yes it’s slow but it’s still a blast to just go out and have fun on.
