Definitely shorten the rear! It takes weight off the nose, reduces spray and makes the ski more nimble. You can always run different rideplates to fine tune how you’d like it to ride

Yes, clamp the crank in a vice using the counterweight and let it rest at the bottom of the vice as well. Grab a 2x4 and set it on a coupler finger and whack the 2x4 with a hammer to break it loose. Works easier than doing it with engine assembled

I had 2 non adjustable Xmetal poles which are fine if you know what length you want but they break and the adjustable ones get sloppy. The Aura is much stronger and a much better design
