Broken steering bracket, can this be repaired? How do I fix this?

Someone had already cut off/ removed the sumitumo plug and reconnected the brown and the black wire- you have to cut it again.

DIY Total loss or MSD TL upgrade box 270USD?

It probably sparks because it wakes up the unit, then immediately reverts to a very small, constant draw.

    sbt head gasket issues

Yes, sleeve could have moved (visibly). Fortunately, "aviation " sealer has nothing to do with aviation and should not be used on this application. (Permatex "High Tack", maybe).

    Other Whole Home Surge Protection

Actually, the first step should be to have a decent grounding system for your incoming panel(S). National Electrical Code requires a certain length grounding rod. However, that does not ground to well in gravelly soil or the sand here in FL. After a lightening strike wiped out some of my lights...

    Stripped splines

Note to op: look closely at the 2 o rings inside near the end of the midshaft. You'll note that they are worn flat. Water was able to enter the inside of the midshaft then carrying with it those elusive, tiny "grease worms" that ate all the grease- causing that wear. Anytime I remove my engine...

    98 Superjet Electrical demons

Yo seafus, there is a short pigtail exiting your ebox on the starboard side. It has two sumitumo plugs. One plug is fed by a black and a white wire- black is ground, white stops the spark. The other plug has a red (B+ at all times if fuse and battery is good) and a brown wire ( actuates/connects...

    Problem that needs Solving

Be advised: the stator has 3 coils: a lightening coil (charges battery, never fails), a charge coil (charges the capacitors in the cdi) and a (smaller) pulser coil which let's the cdi know when to fire. Charge coils have been failing when hot, for me and others for four decades.

Need help! Getting my 90s Square Nose 701 on plane ?

To stop that porpoising, have at least one foot- or if you are "full bodied"- both feet all the way forward in the tray! Also lean forward, yes over the chin pad, until you are on plane.

    Replacement wear ring - SuperJet

Be advised: limit posted in that chart means clearance should not exceed 0.024"! In fluid dynamics, zero clearance would be ideal. However, out of roundness of impeller housing, imp. possibly being a few thousands oor , vibration of vanes whipping around, will certainly dictate about 0.010"...
