Check those clear plastic valves on the pump side for cracks or creases. Check pulse and pickup lines for cracks. Crank over with palm covering carb and see if it sucks fuel.
I also fixed my hood up. I had to pull the liner out and create another one. I closed off the front breathers and made the rear ones bigger. Peeled the paint off with a heat gun and wet sanded to 320 for epoxy primer.
I don't think the vacuum was quite strong enough. The carbon was sucked nice and tight, but the excess resin mainly stayed between the rayon and garbage bag. This made it difficult to pull the rayon in a nice continuous piece.
The milky stuff is the Rayon. The textured matte color is what is...
I would make a plug of the inside of the repair area first. Wax paper than some cloth. Then Grind out all the garbage material and glue the plug to the inside. That should easily give you the correct contour. Then lay from the outside. Make some fairing compound and blend it all in.

I needed some peel ply, so I went to Fabricland and got some 100% Rayon dress lining. Someone said that worked. I also picked up some polyester quilt batting.
I sanded and cleaned the pole and about an inch of the lower bracket. I made sure to sand and key in some epoxy to the bracket and get...

When I had my JS550's the best upgrade I did was get sbn44's to replace the bn44's. Night and day difference for tuning and starting.
The plugs are likely fouled because the tuning is off.
You are rich on the high end. When you go from full throttle to idle their is an excess of fuel, and that is causing the bog. What do your plug chops and piston wash look like? Do you run the BN or the SBN?
