I can relate to this! Love riding my -6 Bad Ass (Mild setup XS900 w/ charging), but I often think I should go way more power or drop it down to a 701 based motor again.
Been really fun to read your experiences on this. I'm currently running some old 46's on my XS900 Superfreak and have been contemplating if its worth an upgrade to a nicer and/or larger set of carbs.
I feel like you are leaning too far to the side. I have found that leaning hard into the BR makes the first bit of the rotation fast, but you end up stalling at the 3/4 roll spot.

The Rok is a super fun freeride type hull that will shine chasing boats. I'd buy that in a heartbeat for boat chasing if the deal was right. Much better IMO over a SJ.
If you have a few spare garage tool or yard tool batteries, you could use that as a source of power with one of their inverters to plug your charger into. Not exactly a DC to DC solution, but I've been using the Ego version with great success for charge kids Stacyc bikes when out camping...
