i think it will work fine, and its alot easier to shape by hand fosho.

make it a little bigger you can always trim it down puy a piece on top also and glue them together, kinda like a sandwich with a foothold inside.

r SORRY FOR THE POST DUMP.. just thought looking at some other turf jobs might help you, if was closer ide turf it for you ive turffed 2 freeks. ya its a R hull the tray is so small i made and installed a front hold to make some room in front of the holds.

turff i just did one like this and you need to thin the toe of the bottom (black mat) about half at the toe or to your liking.
