+1 you need to know what kind of riding you are going for. If you are racing, there is no one size fits all conditions. Sometimes you need more nose pressure, sometimes you don't. Pump nozzle tuning, intake grate, and rideplate all play a part.

Boring cylinders is one thing, try to find someone to rebuild a crank that has a decent reputation and uses decent bearings. They are out there but there doesn't seem to be many left.
