put it back together torquing all to specifications.
Sounds a lot better. I figure previously the impeller was just not tight enough. Probably would have been ok once riding but I feel better about it now.
Thanks for this.
That is calling for it to be much tighter than for sure I did it the first time. I will use a torque wrench this time!
It is weird about the Locktite though because the Solas instructions that came with it said to use either grease or anti-seize. I used a very tiny...
A few weeks back I swapped SJ4 stock impeller for a Solas Concord to go with a stage 1 type tune (using maptuner nano). I have been doing some other things with it as well and so today was first time I ran it to warm it up to do an oil / filter change. I noticed what seemed like a metal...
Yeah, thank you. I had already found the part number online but this alone doesn’t really help for specifications such that I could figure what I might use as a replacement without getting the actual part. I knew the bolt type / thread size but I did not know the length.
As it turns out I...
I am embarrassed to say but as of this moment I have misplaced the 4 bolts that fasten the reduction nozzle to the back of the pump case. I am hoping someone can please tell me the exact specifications for these in case I need to replace them tomorrow?
Ok well I managed to take it off.
I don’t know if what I did was right way but it seems to have come off without anything being damaged, so I figure ok.
What I did is illustrated by the next three pics. Of course you have to imagine that the case is in place, but essentially I pushed that...
Trying to upgrade the stock impeller on my 4-stroke SJ, and have removed the 5 bolts that fasten the pump casing to the rear of the shoe, but the casing is sealed on there super tight. I have wacked it with a rubber mallet and tried to pry it loose but so far no joy. Any tips for how to get...
what do you figure is best way to connect electrical wires for say connecting up bilge pump switch? not meaning for multi-pin type applications. i have always soldered and shrink wrap, but do you figure there is a better way?
I am changing the impeller on 4-stroke superjet.
1.a) When i re-install the reduction nozzle to the pump body casing it looks like i should use silicon or something to make seal; is that right and if so what is best to use?
1.b) Similarly, when i re-install the entire pump body back onto the...
Besides either the Riva intake kit or VK Composites plate, does anyone know of any other alternatives for a mount plate for ECU and electronics that allows for elimination of air box, that doesn’t include filter or breather?
I would like to change the color of my 2022 superjet hood. What material are those hoods made of? Could this be painted in a way that would work out well over time and stand up to the elements? If so, what type of paint should i use; would i need a primer, what application method, and what...
Just about to fiberglass in the opening where the front left exhaust hole is so that i can install the sponsons. It is a RN hull. I was going to just use regular polyester resin, but then i saw in a post on one of the facebook superjet groups and that person was saying you have to use an epoxy...
yes, more rpm would mean more thrust and go faster, but would this not be the case for any impellers not designed to optimize the low end?
Sorry to keep asking the same question, but what I still do not get is how changing the shape of an impeller alone can yield improvements to both the top...
Thank you for the thread link. I have read it carefully and follow that one. That is a great thread but doesn’t specifically cover the questions I raised. It seems they did the intake and exhaust engine upgrades at the same time as the ECU flash; the flash is by far the single most expensive...
Thanks Brad.
I was wondering about just this case, but I could not find any information anywhere that such had ever been sold stock. Did Yamaha ever sell the round noses stock like that until they used up all the full 61X engines, or would it have to be that someone put this combo together...
I have been looking at the Riva Stage 1 upgrades for the 4-stroke Superjet.
I have a Kommander intake grate.
1)Any performance benefits to installing just the Riva intake and exhaust upgrade kits without getting the ECU map flashed with RIVA Stage 1 using Map Tuner? Any numbers for such...
I was hoping that y'all could help me identify my superjet. I always thought it was a round nose around 1996 but i recently read on wikipedia that all the round nose superjets came with 701 engine and 61X cylinder, 62T cases, and so then dual Mikuni Super BN38 carbs. Mine has a 701 engine but...
I would like to try destroyer front sponsons on my 1996 701 superjet. It has dual exhaust and so to do sponsons I guess I would have to eliminate the front exhaust.
I have a B-pipe and 701 engine with a single mikuni 44 carb.
Are there any issues with regard to getting rid of this front...
