The choke works great on my ski. It always fires right up with it. But last year I could pull it out and it would stay at full choke or half till I pushed it back in. Thats why I stayed with it this year... But ill put a primer in it if it wont stay out
Im putting everything back together after a turf job and I reinstalled the choke. But when I pull it out and let go, it goes right back in. Is there something to adjust or am I doing something wrong?
I was thinking just black silicone. basically to taper the edge so water, feet, whatever has less of an edge to catch on. Since 5200 is permanent wouldnt that be shooting myself in the foot when I need to returf?
I was thinking of running a bead of black caulk around my tray where the turf edges meet. Anyone else done this? Seems like it would keep sand out and maybe keep the edges down. Also up in the footholds where the seems are, if they were caulked maybe they wouldnt catch the shoes and peel...
So my new Thrust Trim Kit came in today and and I began the install. I separated the pieces and it looks like there is a gray sealant between them. What kind of sealant is this? Any other tricks to the install I should know about?? Also will I need to cut a notch in the back of the ski to...
I was 99% sure it was a crank seal. I really was planning on doing a motor build next winter, because I refoamed and installed foothold this winter. So now that ive opened another can of worms what can I do to the engine? I want to keep it reliable and easy to start and not have to adjust the...
So I pulled my motor out of my 2000 RN to put the Lightweight Couplers on and to send my Flywheel away to be lightened. I never expected to see this. Is this a bad crank seal? If I wouldnt have pulled the cover to get the stator what would have happened???
So now that all my foam is out, should I remove the factory green sealant and replace it with 5200? Also in the bond line should I 5200 that and glass over it or just 5200 it? This is a RN.
Im in the defoam process. I want to cut a new hole in the bulkhead and reinstall the exhaust tube. My thought was to lower it as much as I can and if thats not enough then I will cut out my foothold. Yes i am mounting them forward a decent amount.
Im about to lower my exhaust tube in my RN to clear my foothold. How much can I lower it and how do I get the flange on the outside to side flat against the hull?
im thinking i could put that pink foam board in the bottom then maybe pour some 2 part over it to lock it in and give the bottom of the tray a nice flat surface. Then use 2 part in the sides so the foothold will be very sturdy. I might as well run drains.
before i refoam it should i install a trim tube? And when I do refoam it what foam should I use? I want to use the 2part foam, should i use ping pong balls with it? Whats the best 2part foam to use and where can i get it?
its a rn. i didnt want to get this involved haha. I dont think i need to lower the tube i figure i will just notch the foothold and reglass it. i hate jet skis....ok i dont
Ok so i started the cutting today and everything went well until i did the right side. After I cut the right side and popped out the glass I notice it looked like the foam had pulled away from the top and outside. Almost like its shrank about 1" from the top and outside only. I took pictures...
Im going to do footholds this winter...but i started thinking if i do foot holds now with my stock pole will it be ok if i do a shortened pole later? Seems like it would through off my stance and wouldnt be comfy, Maybe im just thinking into to much.
I have a 2000 SJ I bought over the summer and rode the hell out of it, now its gettin cold and I have some work to do. WhenI bought it the guy showed me on the sides he put sponsons on it. He said they are molded into the new hull but he bought these and installed them. My problem with it is...
