Well if Nate's place is in on the way to the ditch, then just drop it off at Nate's. I'll grab it there after he fixes the hood. Then onward to Galveston for some surf riding.
Now that current most awesome tip of the day belongs to me!!!!
Hydroturf! I'll bet some little strips in the area of the hood bow glued on and sanded to match the contour would work great!
Dang...you should ripped out the tray and removed all the old foam and sealed it up. I bet that ol girl is waterlogged.
Great find...even if you get to $1K you'll still come out on top! GLWB!
I understand your dilemma...but those parts are def worth renting a uhaul or home depot truck for a couple hours and disposing of the empty hull afterward. You're sitting on about $200-250 bucks. I guess Kawi Kid is gonna make out.
Unless you make it worth their while they probably won't want to hassle with it. IE you have to find someway to remove it yourself and put something else up there without damaging their property. Good luck on the mission though!
Pull the top end off and run a hone and maybe some new piston rings. Those numbers are a little low and uneven. You're probably gonna have to rejet the carbs and new seals wouldn't be a bad idea at this time either. All in all looks like a good runner for your swamp.
I agree...crank on an unknown motor is risky, but since you have it apart I would check tolerances in it. If you do not know how maybe take it to a shop and see if they can tell you if it's in good shape or not. Hate to see this dope project get on the water and blow an engine quickly.
Right now is when you should be looking for a donor ski, it will save you the headache of trying to source all the little pieces you are gonna need. You can probably find one with a blown engine cheap and then rebuild that engine depending on the damage. 90% of the parts you need will be there.
