I don't think you'll be able to re-sleeve the 61x cylilnder, buy new pistons, and and a new crank for $500-$600. But you should be able to pick up a new crank, new pistons, and a bore/hone for $500-$600

The bracket itself will bolt onto your FX-1, but that style of bracket doesn't offer the front hood latch required for an FX-1 hood. You'd have to figure out how to keep your FX-1 hood on if you ran an X-metal style backet.

You gotta replace the non-stainless thrust bearings also, otherwise you're still gonna have rust inside of the bearing cap.

I run a spring with my x-metal pole. I've done it on two different brackets. I'm using a shortened 750sx spring. Was easier to install on the x-metal style bracket compared to my new Cold-Fusion bracket. Check out this page of my build thread...
