Thanks for the replies, the crank seems fine but i am not an expert. it spins freely, no noises or grinding at all. looks like a chunk was taken out of the cylinder wall

Get a square with 701 and if you want more later swap the guts into an aftermarket hull. You can find some AM hulls cheaper than round nose hulls now. My buddy and I both did this and he was able to get into a decent flatwater hull with 701 and goodies for like $5-6k
