You have to pull the flywheel first. The stator is behind and has 2 screws which would hold the cases together. Get a puller like this for the flywheel.

Also when you pull the flywheel with that just put the puller screws in...
Did u pull the flywheel and stator. If so there are a few small indention areas where a flat screwdriver can be put and twisted to get the cases split. Hard to explain what it looks like but follow the seam of the cases and u will see it.
That is the water separator for the tank breather. It works good, until it fills completely with water, which is what the drain is for.
You can remove it if you want, and cut the hose to the check valve. Just keep it to the top of the tank.
My personal opinion is to just leave it.
If you are really concerned with reliability then run a stocker. I ran a stock 62t with a bpipe before switching to a msd. I ocassionally hit the limiter doing tricks but never really got in the way. I did notice more power down low when switching to the msd though. Not a lot, but noticable. I...
Very nice. I ordered one just like it about the same time as you. Also I have that same trailer, so I am looking forward to seeing how you modify it to hold the chan.
Did you pull the screws? I swore I had checked the low jets before though didn't pull the screws the other times. Also with all that carb cleaner were you pulling all the rubber stuff? I just used an air compressor and wd 40, but mine were really clean.

That sucks. Hopefully you get it fixed. Though eventually the hood paint will fall off anyways and look worse than this. I guess it will look nice till then.
Tore the carbs down. OCD may get the prize. There was a piece of paint in the low speed jet. I wonder if moving the screw made the paint chip shift. Testing today hopefully back in business fully.
I am chasing a similar problem. Here is how my day went.
Started in the water boggy of idle, will RIP when the REVs are up or if I chop enough.
I thought maybe I needed to lean out a little since it has gotten colder.
Turned in the low screws, maybe a bit better. Rode a bit. Turned in...
