    SquareNose Freestyle Project

I just bought a 1990 Yamaha Superjet Hull, Hood, Handpole, and misc. 650 parts. I plan on building up a 701 for it. I plan on having this build done around april or may. As of now I have removed the turf, footholds, and exhaust; and in the process of defoaming the hull. When that is done I will...

    Refoaming and Reinforcing

I guess I will just go with the fiberglass and use a black pigment additive so it isn't a nasty epoxy color all inside the engine area.

    Refoaming and Reinforcing

LOL...Never rode an sxr but i'm sure the superjet is a lot better for freestyle....I know it may suck to refoam but I actually enjoy working on my ski....The harder the project the more fun I have....Its great to see your work slowly start to turn out into a bad ass ski.

    Refoaming and Reinforcing

Well the hull I bought has footholds already in it but I would feel much more comfortable if I know they are 100% sealed in there. And it will be a winter build so I will have plenty of time to work on it..Oh yeah I almost forgot...I want to install a 2" one way and have a scupper as a backup...

    Refoaming and Reinforcing

I plan on droping a 701 in it and using it for flatwater freestyle(live on a lake)...I am not very good yet but I plan on going all out with this ski.I guess a 3/4 barrel roll time after time will take it's toll on the hull...I want to refoam it and reinforce it with carbon twill but not sure...

    Refoaming and Reinforcing

I will be picking up a square nose this week and am wanting some ideas on refoaming. I was thinking about using 1 or 2 layers of carbon to reinforce the engine bay and foot tray. The refoaming part i'm not to sure about and I have read a bunch of different posts. I was thinking of using 2lb foam...

    Making Footholds

I want to put footholds in my 1990 650sx but i don't want to spend the money when i have a bunch of glass mat and resin. Has anyone ever made footholds before? I figure if they are homemade then they will most likely fit yout foot a lot better than a one size fits all type. If anyone has any...

    turfing my 650sx

it is very similar but it has the a checkered flag stripe at the end....i think the 750sx's have them......i think im going to wait on the turfing and put footholds in so i guess i will have to scrap the plastics at that point.

    turfing my 650sx

I took off the side pads and the one in front of your feet and it seems like a dumb question but am i supposed to turf directly to the hull or am i supposed to take off the padding on the plastics that i took off and turf that? I bought some grey underpadding to make up for the gap where the...
