i run the BIG CRANK version of the deka9 in surf on lake erie and have not had an issue. i bought a spare just in case but i usually end up letting somone else use it to get theirs running. iv'e had good luck with this size battery.
are the high torque starters worth the money? are the sbt ones any good? i saw an aqua torque for $244 and sbt's high torque is $129. are they worth the extra cash versus a standard oem or even an ebay starter?
i checked my flywheel and its in good shape (R&D aluminum). now im starting to wonder if my starter just doesn't have enough a$$ anymore. my ski just developed this issue this season.
im really starting to lean towards worn teeth on the starter. but i would think it would be more consistent. someone told me to try changing the sterter solenoid, maybe its not sending a good signal???

about 1000 to fill it up. it can do a tail stand no problem out the side. i never really tried one before and i figured i would try it when i took it out the first time. it just balances in one spot no cavatation at all.
