I'm in Canada. I'll have to see if that's even possible.

Because it seems like skis can't be insured outside of CA. I've been told by many insurers that they can do it, but a day later the call back and say they can't.

    Apple air Tags

I haven't found anyone around here that will insure a standup. And at this point, $10k will only get me a stock one with a B pipe. If anyone takes the ski, they'll likely have it hidden in a garage within a few hours. After that the tag won't be following them, and hopefully won't alert them...

    Apple air Tags

I bought an air tag to try this. I plan on putting it in my e-box. I won't be able to test it until late spring, because I'm buried in snow and still have to build the ski when it gets warmer out. I know they warn people that there's a tag following them, but I'm not sure how long before that...

What's your view look like today?

Snow is coming down hard in Schitts Creek. Woke up to around 15 inches of new snow. Took a walk to the bakery on the corner and it's not slowing down. My balcony railing is mostly gone.

Today was a good day - the counter to trivial complaints

That is great to read!! I lost my dad summer of 2020 from the same thing. It was this day in 2019 he was diagnosed. Your story was sounding way too familiar. I didn't comment on it because I didn't want to give you more worries. I'm so happy to see that things went well. Just one piece of...

Stop Shipping With The Courier Crooks!

I was shipping an pump to Torrent with FedEx last summer. I chose a method that would get it there in 3-4 business days. When I checked the tracking I was getting nothing. On the fifth day it said the pump finally departed the location where I dropped it off. I phoned them, furious that it...

Want to Buy Fly wheel lock and puller for Yamaha

You should be able to get a cheap harmonic balancer puller. Those aren't hard to find. I've always used the rope in the cylinder trick instead of the flywheel lock, but will soon buy the lock, because I do a fair bit of engine work. If you're only going to use it only a couple times, I'm not...

    Reed or carb failure?

It can look like that when you pull the plugs, but have weak to no spark under compression Glad you found the issue. Did the flywheel turn? Timing off?

    Reed or carb failure?

I’m still saying you have an electrical issue. CDI, plug boot or plug wire, maybe coil. I had a plug boot go bad. It was sudden. When I got on the throttle it ran on one cylinder. If something in the fuel system was restricted, your plugs would be looking lean, but yours are wet like you’re...

    Reed or carb failure?

I was suggesting throttle shaft wear. Lets air in through the side of the carb when you pull on the throttle. Much less obvious than the linkage. The wet plugs don't make it seem like that though.

    Reed or carb failure?

I'd look for an electrical issue. Harbor has some good ideas.

    Reed or carb failure?

I'm having a similar issue, but mine started occasionally and slowly got worse. I was thinking throttle shaft was leaking air, but the WD40 test didn't change anything. I'm still going to pull it out and check for wear, because I still think that's my issue. From searches I found that other...

    Ski retriever?

I have 50ft of paracord that will float tucked under my steering pad. It's wound in a way that it'll play out without getting tangled. There's an elastic holding it in place, so it'll be easy to rip out of there if my ski starts sinking. Skis usually take some time before they fully submerge and...

Other What did you fab up today? A thread for the home fabricators!

I learned the same way. I've been MIG welding steel for years. I recently started to TIG weld aluminum, and I used the miller website. The best page was the one that compares a good weld to what welds look like when you don't have enough gas, wrong filler material, too fast, etc. I would make a...

Where to Find 1/2" Vinyl Cooling Line

Thanks for the link Ducky. I thought you found it, but the spec sheet shows 1/2 ID and 3/4 OD, but it's not in the list of what you can purchase. It's looking like I'm going to have to use regular hose for the 1/2" lines

Where to Find 1/2" Vinyl Cooling Line

I couldn't find that type on his list. I'm kinda relieved because he just shipped me a huge order a few days ago. Still in transit. I would have been mad at myself for missing that. This is what I'm after, in a larger size. Anyone know why nobody carries it in 1/2"?? It's not a big deal...

Where to Find 1/2" Vinyl Cooling Line

I'm assuming it will flex and pinch too easily when heated. The 3/8 stuff you get from showtime, blowsion, etc has the thicker walls. I'll probably give it a try, but I worry about it sagging and rubbing against things when it's hot, or creating a pinch on a bend. Looking at the temperature...

It’s 1/16 wall. 1/8 total added to the diameter. It looks like it’s only sold in 100 ft rolls and most importantly isn’t available in Canada… so a couple issues
