Some people say you don't need them on a 08+ because of the factory ones built in, but they really helped the handling and rough water ride of our ski.

We added the pre 08 cable to our 08 SJ along with RRP steering, it was a fantastic improvement.

Has Yamaha ever fixed the peeling paint issues on the hood? I'd hate to buy a new ski and deal with that issue. I know it's the mold release that caused the issue and in hotter climates it is worse, but have they changed anything to solve the issue?

Do you think with the stock water box I would loose much low end? Even though I started this thread about my top speed, I didn't build this for top speed. Low end is what I use most and is what helps me launch off waves.

That's a good point. I'm still at the Factory Pipe recommended starting point of 3/4's out on the bottom and the other two closed. Pipe gets hot, but won't sizzle water next to the coupler like it's supposed too. That bottom screw is so hard to adjust in the hull. Think that will give me...
