i was talking with a good friend (hes the owner and gm of a yamaha dealership) the other day about the end of the sj and sxr. his reply which make sense to me is that they will still produce and sell the skis but they will be sold under the the guidlines of "for competition use only".

update!! so i confirmed that the head must be leaking (thanks for all the help with it). so i got a stock head and gasket and put it on so at least i could go riding, i decided to check compression to see where it was at with the stock head, and to my dismay the #'s were 135 139!! wtf! i think...

thanks for the info. i'll have to try to find a vacuum gauge that will work and a way to pump it down. hhmm, you might be on to something here.. i did deck the head just enough to get it perfectly straight and used a brand new set of orings for it, but i guess it still could be leaking.
