ya that thing was ironically a perfect fit for FL surf! i rode it on one cylinder and still loved it! does not ride anything like most tiny flatwater hulls.
Tem is a killer surf rider but that thing will do exactly what you want it to do and no surprises!
a beater crusty pipe of any sorts aftermarket will be heaps better than modified stock brick. lots of old raider, blaster, sn 650, and even some kawi stuff can work for you!
my measurements are based from the pump shoe forward. cutting the center a little farther back is just to get the rocker started earlier for the best flow and transistion. also allows a couple inserts in the engine bay to be kept (battery)

sweet! post up pics :) 550s are a blast to ride in the surf and always will be. sometimes its more fun to shred a stock old ski and see how well you can manuever it in tricky surf since its all based on rider input and balance and not motor or pump capabilities
the stuff they send you is garbage for one and the amount of work you do to make them fit you could just glass over your cut open and widened tray and be way better off running some RRP holds. BOB quality is a joke and by no means worthy of being in an FX!
imma slap Mark

20 oz is very strong and great for structural buildup but quite difficult to wet layup. if vac bagging no problem and will contour well
dont...
thanks ill fix that. 2 layers of biax and epoxy is stronger than stock SMC garbage at 3/8" thick !!!! ive tested this well in the surf :) I would suggest that you use about 3-4 layers biax with epoxy during install and you will drop 5.5 lbs overall on the RN. On the SN you will drop even...
well im a little scared to sell one now with that trend, but i sell these for $600 no liner or $700 with liner. can also be made to buyers specs (layup).
