The sv1 is also a great all around ski. A buddy has one with a basic ported 61x with matching parts and he rides the absolute crap out of that thing. He can flip it off a boat wake without much issue either. He had a sv pro before that and he said it was a lot of work to flip it in the surf with...
For all around its hard to beat the -4.3 in my opinion. The edge is a great hull too but really need a bigger engine 900+ to really enjoy it because of its weight
Guys that say both feet back is the only way have never ridden surf or at least good surf. Re-entries look silly with both feet in the rear holds. There's an old thread on here with a guy trying a re-entry with both feet back and it looked super goofy I wish I could find it. You'll never get...
Got her out for a little surf sesh today. Waves were epic! Solid beautiful 4-6 ft sets in the back field with plenty of separation between. The freak felt right at home. Still getting used to the Ski and had some perfect opportunities to flip but was too pansy to huck it haha. Definitely next...
Excellent work! I put adjustable footholds in my superjet as well I just didn't refoam the tray as it had already been done. I'll also say that the adjustable footholds make turfing the tray much easier to do.
The fv is definitely not a surf ski. The v2, v3 are great all around skis and the sv1 as well. Sv pro is heavier and more of a big wave ski. The badass was originally designed as a surf/freestyle type hull depending on the length. There were many different lengths made from -2 to -9. -4.3 is...
Free bump, I'm not a buyer little out of my budget but I can say the phantoms ride really well and are super tough skis. I have a buddy with a glass version and its taken some pretty hardcore abuse and has held up really well.
You're 100 lbs or so lighter than a sxr and at least 50 lbs lighter than a superjet haha. The key here is clean water, once it starts chopping up, I bet they run you back down. Still cool to get the win. Sounds like you got a. Good enough lead from the start t9 hold them off for the rest. I...
It's easier to backflip and roll with both feet back because the weight in the rear helps rotation and get the nose up. I also like a kick tail on my skis and will put a foot there when riding surf stance as well which helps get weight over the nose
I ride both surfstance and both feet back. Just depends on what I'm doing. If I'm in the surf, or going fast and carving, surf stance it is. Hitting a boat wake, typically both feet back. All of my skis I put a front foothold on them for riding variety. My shortened, rockered superjet rode nose...
I have an oneill drysuit and love it. Takes some getting used to and very difficult to zip up by yourself. Also you have to dress for thr water temp. I have both a wet and dry suit. Milder Temps I'll wear the wetsuit, colder I'll put the dry on. And it's nice being dry underneath
