    Super Jet 650sx v sn 701 sj

I think the Kawasakis tend to have a little more v in the front of the hull. I know my 650sx handled chop a little better than my SN. It might be that the SXI is a better ski for you however if you're surf riding or freestyle it really all goes back to the superjet. If you're just a recreational...

Super Jet air leak locations on SJ 701 engine?

I have heard to pull the throttle before but I never think to do it in the moment. Don't you have to pull the plug wires first to stop the spark before you pull the throttle wide open? It makes sense that the fuel would cool the plugs but if they're still sparking I can see it over-revving...

Super Jet air leak locations on SJ 701 engine?

That would make the most sense because I was thinking all weekend about how well the ski was running. No issues at all. It's just a 701 single 44sbn with an R&D rec. head, MSD enhancer, and a limited B-pipe. I'm running one size larger main jet (147.5 rather than 145) than factory recommended...

Super Jet air leak locations on SJ 701 engine?

Do you know of a link to build a leakdown test setup? I thought I had seen one a while back.

Super Jet air leak locations on SJ 701 engine?

Last time I went riding my SJ went into a free-revving condition where I could not shut it off. I'm guess that I have an air leak. My crank seals are new so those are ruled out. What are some other possible locations for leaks that could cause a lean condition at idle?

    Super Jet 650sx v sn 701 sj

My last ski was a very nicely modified 89 650sx. I had an opportunity to buy a 93 SJ so I jumped at it. It is a much better ski all around, I quickly parted out my 650sx and used the money to build up the SJ. If the price is fair you will not be sorry.

300/440/550 Oil coming out my exhaust

I don't think it would be possible to continue leaking a significant amount of oil out of the exhaust. As others have said it's probably just sooty water and some unburned fuel. The gas will evaporate and leave oil behind. My skis have dribbled thick blackish water in the past. Don't sweat it...

John Zigler on PWCtoday has one right now. It's about $140 I think. Post a want ad at pwctoday and you'll find one.

Is a lightweight flywheel worth it?

I mostly ride at LBJ. I've got a little girl and another one on the way in July so hopefully I can ride a bit before then. I think my foam is dry and I really don't want to have to find out. I'd rather just find an FX-1. When I reinforced the tray and installed the footholds it was dry but I...

Is a lightweight flywheel worth it?

I really appreciate all the input, it made the decision really easy, plus I've pulled and reinstalled flywheels plenty of times and I really was not looking forward to doing it. Do alot of you guys advance the timing? There is a good local shop here in San Antonio, I might talk to them about...

Is a lightweight flywheel worth it?

I have a 61x square with a limited b-pipe, MSD enhancer, and an R&D rec. head. Just trying to figure out if it is worth buying a lightweight flywheel. Are there any drawbacks? I am just looking at the lightened stock ones that have been offered in the for sale section, not jetenitics or anything...

sell whole or part out? What is my square worth?

Thinking about selling my square to buy a friends nice FX-1. Just wanted to see if you guys think I should part it out or sell whole. What would you say it's worth? 93 Square 24/7 footholds, new turf, reinforced tray, pole spring, umi straight bars, single 500gph bilge w/blowsion rotary...

Shaking 61x....is this too much vibration

I did not align without the rubber coupler damper. I did use a straightedge and a tiny ruler to measure the space between the couplers. I also took the plugs out and rotated the couplers back and fourth with my hand and fingers between the coupler pieces to see if it's pinching or squeezing...

Shaking 61x....is this too much vibration

Thats water that was left over from me washing the hull out. It's just standing water, not leaking from anywhere. Probably just splashing around. To little for the bilge pump to pick it up.

Shaking 61x....is this too much vibration

Yes it's 185 in both cylinders, checked it with a Snap-on compression gauge last week. I'm running 93 octane with Maxima octane booster.

Shaking 61x....is this too much vibration

Thanks Mick. Glad to hear the pipe is the culprit. When I'm working on the ski I kind of hate this pipe because it's in the way, but it sure rips when it's tuned right, hopefully I can get some time in the water tomorrow to get the low end right So did you get elected? I was in Galveston...

Shaking 61x....is this too much vibration

The rubber mounts are moving with the engine but the bolts are torqued to factory specs w/red loctite. I don't think it's running real good. I just switched from a 95 gram spring to an 80 gram spring and have not messed with the low end much. I think my idle was too low as well. It was...
